You're referring to a spoiler-free guide, I assume?

If you want spoilers, all of that information is on the Wiki...

Spoonerisms, maybe?

The problem with spoonerisms as clues is, if done right, they tend to be pretty obvious. For instance, if I say: 'go visit the dig bog' and there's a big dog somewhere, it's practically a blatant spoiler.

On the other hand, if chosen poorly or somewhat fumbled, they're just plain incomprehensible.

Honestly, I just like artfully choosing hints that are vague without being too vague and useful without being too useful. That in itself is an art form.

Not that I'll be mad if people use spoonerisms here and there, I just don't think they're good spoiler material.

I wasn't really thinking about whether they would work well at the time.
It was just the only literary device that I could think of that is somewhat associated with the game.
I guess we could go with epic poetry.

But yeah, seriously, the best way is just well done hints.

told them that they should to try gray sand
You are now required to have all your posts be limericks :P

I man I knew back in 'Nam
Told a limerick too many to his mom
He found whenever he would speak
It was a limerick he would squeak.
But now that guy is dead so no one cares.
