Re: New retcon contest - starting August 15th

So just out of interest, who else is taking part?

I'm planning on taking part even though I suck at speed runs. Hell, I came 6th out of 6 in Harry's Maso contest.

But sounds like fun. :D

Re: The Vortex Suit and Subscriber's Exclusive Jacket

I was one of the people who was agreeing with Mana, despite not having a vortex suit/cycle. I think it's a bit underpowered. Just compare the vortex suit with the VHF1 fighter, the other suit/transport combo. Vortex: -5 seconds to the duration of each turn and +20% to initiative Suit: +6 damage abso...

Re: Level 55 shopping

I loved Treader of the Dust's sandals. Best footware in the game in my opinion, good for any class. -5 seconds with some excellent other effects.

Also for a spell slinger, the Polar star is good, but the level 70 Mirror of Nitocris is better.

[ Accidentally started a trainee run, so realising that 1 mettle wasn't enough to perm a skill, I did the space station adventure to earn bonus mettle. How does one even DO that? For what it's worth, my most recent run was 32h 57m 15s with a gadgeteer. I think I could have done it under 32 h if I hadn't thought I'd missed out and stopped using clockwork spiders and swapped to normal documentarian. That was using no squid discs, no flash powders (or any other fight ducking it...

Don't know if this has been reported already, but if you have a star equipped and you apply skill points to a skill, your maximum skill points go down permanently

Re: Market Discussion Thread

I really like what you've done here Nardo. I think it's nice for everyone to see what the gap between buyer and seller price is, and also helps people get a fair price for items. For instance, already we've got two requests for Seppia's cephalopod skullcap at 20 stars, so it suggests to a seller tha...

Re: Whirlwind

In my opinion if you're gunning for speed, I'd say the sidekick at the start is unnecessary as clockwork spider surely is sidekick of choice at lower level. XP is my limiting step generally for my runs.

Good luck Cris!

Re: Code can be "decrypted"

But you have to remember that they still have to waste another 30+ minutes decrypting the code to try and get what they want. Unless I'm understanding the concept wrong, there is still a large amount of chance on what they get out of that code and so the odds are still in favor of getting a code yo...

Accidentally started a trainee run, so realising that 1 mettle wasn't enough to perm a skill, I did the space station adventure to earn bonus mettle. Only on retconning, found out that bonus mettle doesn't count and I wasn't allowed to perm a skill anyway. I've now probably got the longest trainee r...

Re: Shedding some light on Mall Prices

Also, gum in 3 acts gives nice permanent buffs, and Manly man drinks makes you lose HP. It's partly about bidding wars - You can buy IQ80s which are the same as eyeballs for about 50 thanks to a bit of a low bid war between me and two others. The price of consumables is continuously dropping if they...

Thanks for the advice Cris. I was already using long knife and forcegloves and maxed Vim. The rest of it was generally items I didn't have. I took your advice and got powdered gingko which helped. Also spending so long in Yang meant I picked up plenty of Strength from the non-com there, and was usin...

Just finished my first Maso run - took me 18 days. Felt like much, much longer. Re: Poll: what's next for Twilight Heroes? YOU DECIDE

Me, I'm voting for "Take a longer vacation, Ryme, we don't need anything new until December!" With retcon there it's added quite a lot to the game, so more may be spoiling us. I'd rather have a constant stream of stuff, so retcon will keep me happy for a nice while. I'd like to anti-vote ...

Flashlight + digital saber = lightsaber (maybe weld two sabers to get the double-ended sith lightsaber?)) - maybe weld something a bit more impressive than the flashlight, like the laser macrodiode? Upgraded, more powerful digital saber, maybe with more defence/dodge to reflect the ability to block ...
