Re: Leagues!

I guess that I'm really curious as to if any of the leagues will add a roleplaying element, actually acting like a "superteam" instead of just players getting together to fight the VotD (Villian of the Day). I was briefly in a group for City of Heroes, and we had character bios, stories, r...

Re: Leagues!

I'm curious about how bosses are going to work. Are they going to be event-only? Are they going to be constant, perhaps each one sticking around a few weeks to a month before the next one comes on? Obviously, I know that a lot is still being felt out in the current stages. Just trying to get an idea...

Re: Leagues!

Well, I'm familiar with Clans in KoL, so I'm guessing that the event is continuing in a "League dungeon" of sorts?

Re: Non-class Permanent Skills

I pointed that same thing out a month or so, mara, and I think that Ryme fixed that as a bug. You should be able to re-learn the skill now, even if you have it permed but don't currently have access to it because of your run type. It should be on the last page of the bugs thread.

Re: Mall Shelves

True, but if the reason for keeping stores small is resources, then the cut-off would be more effective than exorbitant pricing. After all, while some people may choose to pay the high scaling price for more shelves, NO ONE can go beyond a cut-off. It's not like the chips are real money that can the...

Re: Mall Shelves

Given the current state of the game, I don't really think that more shelves are going to be a boon to anyone that holds them. There simply isn't enough of a market for there to be value. Still, I don't think that the outrageous costs of shelves are justified, either. I understand the concept of havi...

Re: Mall Shelves

I decided early on upon starting this game that I'm not going to bother with the mall or trying to sell anything, and I didn't even know that you had to purchase each individual shelf. That only seals the deal. I run a very profitable store in another game similar to this one. However, it's only suc...

I had a lot of fun and gave it my best (well, except for screwing up on the no-pulls run). There's no competing against IotM, though. :P

Thanks, Harry! When's the next one?

Re: Minor bugs

Not sure if this is a bug, but it seems like it should be. I have the Fast Learner skill permed, but am currently in a run that I don't have access to it. Since I don't "have" the skill at the moment, I thought that I could use the Crammer's Guide to Cramming to learn it for this run, but ...

Re: July contest - contest in progress

Acidcat is already finished, too, I think, though there might be time to try to re-try one of the runs to get a better time. My own times are merely a technicality, since most of you have shorter times for your four runs than I did with only three, so my final run isn't going to change my chances. :P

Re: Make pulls carry over?

I've been going through a 5-pull run for the past three days, and haven't taken a single turn, either. I might today, since I should have all of my items/gear for the first couple of levels. Rollover pulls would be a convenience, yes, but I can usually find the time to come on for at least a few min...

Re: July contest - contest in progress

By comparison, all of my runs are looking to be like ten hours longer than Cris's, so I'm a shoe-in for fourth place. :P I even did badly on my no-pulls run, which should have been something of an equalizer. I made a few stupid moves towards the end, though. My only hope to even look like I was real...

Re: July contest - contest in progress

Well, my day 2 in the no-pulls run started out a bit better when I snagged Wraith. However, things slowed down quickly when I hit the level 5 quest and couldn't pull memory tubes to save my life. I ended the day on level 6, and I'm still waiting on a second memory tube so I can start decrypting. Hop...

Re: July contest - contest updated

My personal strategy is to knock out the all-items and no-pulls runs at the start, and then see where I stand for the 5- and 10-pull runs. I already started day late, so I'm hoping that it doesn't make a huge difference. I don't think that I had the resources to take advantage of Freyday, anyway.

Re: July contest - contest updated

Maybe they could, if they do all of the other runs fast enough that they can afford to waste a few days. Seeing some of bmara's runs, it shouldn't be that hard for her to sit on her 5-pull run for a few days, especially if she blasts through the all-items run on a Frayday. I'll definitely be careful...

Re: July contest - early stages of details

Sure, I'll be in. I don't stand a chance in Hell, but I'll go for the gusto. Just to be certain, you do mean the first person to START and complete each of the runs beginning on July 1, correct? The way that its currently written, one could argue that they could start a run prior to July 1, and then...

Re: Old IotM Reintroduction and Old/New Balance [Split]

@mara... When I truly set my sights on farming (as I recently did while waiting for a "four-shadowed" event that still hasn't coalesced), I can pull in a mil or more of meat in a day, easy. True, to get something like the March Hat, it would take me about five months of intensive farming, ...

Re: Old IotM Reintroduction and Old/New Balance [Split]

In KoL, I will eventually own every IotM that has ever been made, and I won't do it by donating to Hell and back. I'll do it simply by playing the game. By farming and then selling my spoils, I can easily build up the capital to buy anything in the game, and in a relatively short amount of time. I h...

Re: Creative player ideas for in-game items, zones, etc.

I also favor making older IotM available to the newer players. I understand that the older players don't want this to happen, but I don't buy any argument that it's about “item value.” As it stands, these items have little to no realistic value, because there simply isn't enough players in Twilight ...

Re: TIAMAT's CHALLENGE

Yeah, no way could I have hoped to finish even close to that quickly. I finished one run, and will probably finish my second either tonight or tomorrow. I'll still finish the remaining runs, even though a winner has been determined. I said I would, so I'm gonna.
