Hey, just poking my head in here to wave hello to everyone....a nice royal wave....you know, the kind where you barely move your hand but you're waving, really you are! *smile*

Yay! I'm new!

Well... not really. I joined as soon as I saw this on the KoL wiki more than 2 weeks ago. I'm a level 9 gadgeteer.

Hullo! I'm Rombo, but my friends (and most other people too) call me Rom.

I'm about to hit the big One-Nine, and am currently looking for a job to tide me over 'til I start Uni next year. Unlike most of the people here, I am 110% rubbish at programming, and have never played DnD and the like. However, I do enjoy the odd RPG, and was directed to Heroes de la Twilght by the KoL wiki. I am kinda rubbish at KoL though, I have to admit, and tend not to frequent there so much any more.

My name in both games is Rombo, and I tend to have an alt called Tombo. Originality doesn't feature highly on my list of personality traits. I do like to have a laugh though, and I like to think I can bring a smile to others!

I can speak A-Level standard German (read: rubbish), and I scored one of the top 5 marks in my country (I'm in Newcastle, England) for my English Literature GCSE. I've gone downhill since then though! This has nothing to do with that, but I'm a level 13 Naturalist and a level 15 Gadgeteer. I'm really enjoying being able to put in some real work with the wiki for Twilight Heroes, as I've never done this before (does it show?), and I feel like I'm making a real difference, as everyone else has seen the content for about as long as I have, and as such this means I've been able to enter a lot of data. :)

I have a job interview tomorrow, so wish me luck, as I'll be donating as son as I get my first paycheck!

-- Rombo :)

Yubi Shines.

I draw, I write, I think giant martini glasses and cactuses and dirt are neat, and I am completing the final touches on my orbital laser.

I do stuff.

Ahoy mates.

I saw the KoL wiki article a few days ago ( I don't frequent KoL as much as a used to...) and decided to come over here and check stuff out. Seems like a nice game with lots of room for future expansion.

Hello World

My name is Kevin, but I go by Tviri for reasons even I'm not sure of. I found this game a few weeks ago on JiG, and just got my forum account activated. I usually never post on forums (I've made around three forum posts over my entire lifetime), but why not start? And now, here's some info that probably nobody cares about.

I'm a stereotypical teenage pretentious artist-type guy with a stick up my arse, except I'm such a cheapskate that I only really get art supplies from my school when nobody's looking. I like science and art, and hope to further my education in microbiology and physics, and also finally learn how to draw an accurate human face in three dimensions. I'm also proud to say that I'm almost fully independent, in that all I need is a job to survive all by myself. I have a bad habit of being too honest (see first sentence of this paragraph) and an even worse habit of ranting.

I enjoy games like this, KoL, D&D, and similar RPGs. I would like to say that I'm a decent gamer, but alas, my computer's too clunky and slow to run any games made after 2003, too new to run old favorites like Moraff's Revenge, and it always manages to find something wrong with everything else. I would elaborate, but then it would become a forty-minute rant and I'd rather not rant endlessly about how I dislike Halo or World of Warcraft in an Intro thread.

I'm going to stop typing now, before this post doubles in length.

Moraff's Revenge rocked. Try nethack or an Angband variant (I recommend T.o.M.E.) if you'd like some randomly generated dungeon loving that should work on your computer regardless of it's model.

Ah, yes, Nethack and Angband. :) I've played Nethack and Angband before, and they both ruled, despite their insurmountable difficulty. I've almost beaten Nethack once, but only once, as I died of starvation while running away with the Amulet of Yendor. Nethack is cruel like that - I remember dying once when my pet kitten got stuck in a pit, so I pushed it out and it went nuts and killed me. Good times.

I'm SpockYoda, and I'm addicted to TH... oh, wait, that's not what I'm here for.

I've been playing TH awhile, and I'm a level 19 (and counting) psion.

I also like forums, w00t!

Hi everybody, I'm Paul. I live in Seoul, Korea, and am a senior in high school. I'm really interested in mathematics, philosophy, psychology, linguistics, and quite a few other disciplines as well.

I found out about this site from Jayisgames, but I have played KoL as well. I was pretty into it, actually, but then I kind of fell off. Hopefully the same thing won't happen here. I think the smaller playerbase is pretty cool, and hopefully that will keep me attracted.

Comic book-wise, I don't think anyone can compete with Gaiman's Morpheus (who isn't actually a superhero, but still...) I'm really attracted to the idea of comic book as art (having lived in Belgium may have helped this) and so my tastes in superheros lean towards the more sinister and Gothic or occult-y ones (Batman, I guess, being the most mainstream... what would a TH Batman be?)

Anyway, I could talk about my tastes for hours on end, but I don't think there's anything else I need to mention right now. I've only just started playing TH (as an Elementalist), but I like the way it's looking and I think it could grow into something great.

37 yr old, 3.5yr KoL veteran just signed up this morning at work. ID #7666. I can't tell my wife I found a new game, but I can tell already that this will be just as addicting a game as my other one(s). Thanks for the opportunity to get in on the 2nd floor.

Hello all ye heroes!

I'm Max Fightmaster, called so as a tribute to Staff Sgt. Max Fightmaster, the man with the most awesome name in the history of real people.

Max, keep up the good fight. You are a real hero, and not by name only.

A little bit about me: I'm younger than some and older than most, work as a comp. operator for an international corporation in the IT business, live in a country far far away (compared to most of you, who I imagine live west of Istanbul) and majoring in English Lit and Linguistics in University.

Alright... I go by Shadowtoast, both on here and KoL, which i've been on for about 3 years now (my, how time flies)...

you can call me that, or Mally... I heard about this game back when it was still in alpha, but had no net, so couldn't join... then a friend on KoL sent me a link to it, and I've been playing ever since...

I'm in my 20's, have a girlfriend, a few cats that aren't actually mine, but love me anyway, and a very, very empty apartment

As for games, I obviously enjoy this and KoL, as well as D&D (was rolling dice before i could walk, i'm told... i grew up playing the old Gold Box games), M:tG, and old Commodore 64 games, as well as some others

I'm a bit of a forum fan, so don't be surprised if you see my name a lot on here...

also, I have multis... they're in my signature, along with levels and classes, and all that good stuff...

if i can find out how to link character info, i plan on it

Hello I finally got on here. Yay. I know it's quite a bit late, but thank you so much for getting rid of the 500 errors. They made the game largely unplayable.

Hi.

I'm Miss Kass, also known as Kalyndrien (#672) in game and Jessica (or Jessy) in real life -- that place where I can do as much as I want in one day without someone telling me I'm too tired to. Also, I can drink as much caffeine as I like, and nobody cares if I'm loopy.

At the time of writing, I'm fifteen. I probably shouldn't be telling people on the internet that, because somehow the sites I visit will track me back to this post and say "gtfo", but, hey, I'm a risk-taker.

I'm from Australia. I often go into great rants about how much I hate living here, because I get television shows and movies and video games after a whole lot of other countries, but I really do enjoy it here most of the time. We live in the future, which is nice. New Years is many, many hours before most other places. =D

My normal days consists of going to school, then coming home and neglecting to do my homework (bad Jess, bad!), then playing video games and watching television until I fall asleep. My great loves in television consist of: Doctor Who, Torchwood, Heroes, Grey's Anatomy, Supernatural, LOST, Desperate Housewives, Top Gear, and various other shows that appear at various other times that I happen to turn on. My great loves in video games are: Spyro the Dragon, Crash Bandicoot, Jak and Daxter, Ratchet and Clank, Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, POKEMON (zomg I love Pokemon) and other games that are like that; sort of adventure-y and fantasy-y.

OH. Yeah. I play KoL, too (Kalyndrien (#1115701)), and found out through the news on there about TH, I believe. I'm really glad I discovered TH, because it's just fantastic and awesome and... hee.

Erm... that's about all, really. I'm a girl, in case I hadn't mentioned that, or you hadn't worked it out. So, um, yeah. =P

Welcome to the both of you!

Indeed, Clack. Wonderful post, Miss Kass. It makes those oldtimers like Olaf and Clack feel better if there are some new young whippersnappers around here. (Note: I'm 16)

So, yeah. Watch out for Hamish. And beware the Kraken.

Mind if I bring my Bass-O-Matic 77? I like to eat candy off it.

And thank you both for praising my post; I do try to make a good impression. Zelandoni, your warning about Hamish is duly noted, though I don't think I've met the Kraken yet...

I'm Sparkplug in game, I go by the rather long titled JollyGoodRodgerRing in KOL, and am a /games regular in there (except at the moment, doing my first HCO run :-P )
Found out about the game from there and decided to give it a go, and loving it so far!

Oh yeah, I'm in Ireland, anyone else ireland based in here?

Hello People! New to both TH and these here forums. My character name here is Semsura and I'm really digging this new content! KOL is my first love (I'm Snugglefluff), but TH is sucking me in more and more every day!
I guess I'll tell you a little about myself; I'm 24, a single mom of an incredible little 4 yr old girl, residing in the frozen tundras of Vermont. I'm on both TH and KOL quite often lately, as I was injured in a car accident last summer and have since made a profession out of popping pills and trying really hard not to hurt. Though I do well at the first part, the latter makes some trouble for me. The pay sucks, too. I wouldn't suggest it to anyone looking for a career path.
To describe myself, I sometimes say I'm a few quirks shy of eccentric. I make and play with giant hula hoops, ranging from the size you all are familiar with all the way up to 15' in diameter. They're barrels of monkeys, for sure!
I work very very part time in the music industry, which gives me the opportunity to travel around the Northeast, working the merch booths and promoting shows for several almost-famous jam/bluegrass/folk/groove-type bands, as well as working for a charity booth that follows big shows and collects food items for whichever neighborhoods the parties are in. It's a fulfilling job PLUS I get to feel like almost a rockstar, minus the fact that I don't have a music-playing bone in my body.
During the summer, my weekends are spent camping out amongst hundreds, sometime thousands, of stinky hippies, grooving barefooted in the grass and opting out of sleep for 3-4 nights. Looking forward to the season's first festival is typically what gets me through these hideous winters.
I'm always up for a chat and meeting new and interesting people, so if you have any questions or are bored, feel free to drop me a line.

I look forward to being a part of the progress of this fabulous game!

~Refinnej

Hey there. I'm fairly new here. Been playing a few weeks with a Psion called Alhazred (#9526 - my primary character) and a Gadgeteer who goes by Tennyson the Tinker (#9672).

I guess I should revise the fairly new part. I'm extremely green. This is the first time I've delved into browser-based games like this one. Most people around here seem to have come from KoL, but I learned about Twilight Heroes from Play This Thing! and learned about KoL through reading the Twilight Heroes forums. Now, I play both, but I'm still terribly inefficient and end up using all my time or adventures in a very short period of time. A lot of the terminology surrounding these games might as well be Alienese to me, but I'm picking it up bit by minuscule bit.

I love the game, though, and really enjoy reading all of the mob descriptions and combat text, finding new items and imagining my ridiculous hero's exploits. The game has me hooked.

Oh, okay, hi.
I'm poetfox, #306, apparently, which seems low, so I guess that's cool? I'm back after a month or two when I, perhaps foolishly, thought "Oh, I leveled up and it didn't give me a skill, I must be through the content" and now I'm enjoying myself and trying to actually get involved in the group of people surrounding the game instead of just playing it as a solo sort of experience. I always feel like I'm probably missing something by being left out of it all. So there you go.
Like so many other people, I'm on KoL too, having heard about the game on the Jick and Skully show. I'm also called poetfox there, with the exciting number of 1258731, apparently.
Man, should I talk about me personally? Eh, I suppose not, no need to weird anyone out. I'm just sort of extreme casual sort of player, not really trying to be the best of the best, just do whatever seems like a good idea to me at the time. I'm friendly, I hope, though perhaps a little shy at first. Anyway, it's nice to meet you all.

Welcome, welcome, four times welcome.

Sparkplug: Not that I know of. I've always wanted to visit, but never have.

Sounds quite enjoyable, Semsura. Music is always good. Though I'm certainly not bluegrass/folk. Trumpet tends not to work well with those.

Heh. Hello Alhazred. Cthulhu has already been seen playing, so it's good to know that you are here.

That is a rather low number, poetfox. I hope you are enjoying the game again!

My Heroes Cape was kidnapped, I was sent a ransom note that said either I post in the Introduce yourself thread or the cape-nappers would cut it up and mail it back in pieces.

Hey, I've been playing twilight for a few months, but tend not to really get involved with game communities... that being said, Hello everyone.

Anyway, my char. i.d. is 7753.
