I searched the forums, and I couldn't find anything on welding. Is it possible to weld anything yet?

There are a few things that you can weld. Not exactly sure why you couldnt find them on the wiki.

Everything that can be welded has "Can be welded" in it's item description. It's not the mystery that assembling things is.

I have started to draft a Wiki page that shows all the known combination items (A+B=C), what it takes to combine them (simple assembly or welding), and the attributes of the resulting item. Unfortunately, I can't seem to access the Wiki this morning but it will be in there soon under the "Summary Tables" category.

Stalker hasn't recieved his activation yet so he asked me to post this reply for him -

Hodog, he says he has already made a welding table on the wiki on the Assemble things page, so you can use that when creating your table

Smeg, thanks for that. The hard part is searching through every item to figure out what is combinable with what, and what the attributes of the finished product are. I am about 95% done with my page, but the Wiki seems to have a lag issue today!

Does anybody know what the Hedge Slammer is good for (other than pounding enemies)? It shows up as weldable, but I have discovered no combinations that use that particular item.

I've only found one combination involving it, requiring an item that is from a higher level area.

OK, now that the DDOS attack on the Wiki server is over . . .

I have created a new page showing all the combination items, their attributes, and the components required to build them. This covers assembly, welding, and computer / software projects. I THINK this is a comprehensive list, but there is no guarantee that I found them all.

Hey Smeg, that is HodAg, I am allergic to dogs!

However, thanks for the kind words and for tweaking my submission. If I get enough inspiration, I might make up a quick reference chart for all 240 items in the game. I have learned a lot just doing this one, and I hope others find it useful.

Where's the midlevel welding combos? Is my torch useless to me until I hit level 10, now that I've surpassed it's initial use? Or is this set of items intended more for allowing me to provide the new players with nice gear for their first forays into the game? Hopefully we'll see a significant increase in the number of viable creations, making the significant expenditure for the torch worthwhile.

The items that use titanium come fairly early in the game, the ones that use plasteel a bit later. You should find plenty of things to play with.

As with almost everything, there will be plenty more options in the future.

Hopefully something that'll have welded items actually be good.

Although items with good effects are lacking, in terms of raw toughness the titanium and plasteel items are pretty good.

Plasteel are one of the best armors/Weapon on the game though

Yeah, in terms of vanilla-ness

Plasteel is good if you just don't want to take any damage. A full plasteel suit can be very useful for boss fights.

Wait, plasteel tastes like vanilla now? I'd rather wear my pants.

For the record, I enjoy building things that aren't immediately outclassed by the things that I find. I guess that's why I started off as a Gadgeteer.

Agreed. I would like to see more welding/combination items -- maybe some that aren't as obvious as some of the ones we've been getting. I was actually pretty impressed by

SPOILER - HIGHLIGHT TO READ:
The "hot potato" item. The combination of items was definitely outside of the box.
Maybe one item, a shirt of some sort, that combines with multiple items and each outcome will have a different kind of enchantment.

By the way, thank you for making Ash somewhat rare.

Unconventional welding? I'm reminded of the Dogwelder.

"A thin, silent man in a welder's mask who spot welds dead canines to evildoers, resulting in extreme burns and general horror. The question of how exactly one can weld a flesh and blood animal to a person is not answered by the series."
