Hi. An embarrassed Infinite Butterfly here. I think I royally screwed up here. I "used" the gray sand. Am I now unable to finish the quest in the rank and dusty maze? Heeeeeelp!

Nope, it's okay to use that stuff. You just need to know what it is for the password, you don't have to have it.

Heh... when I initially used the gray sand I thought I had somehow messed up as well.

If you find you've wracked your brains to no avail email me in-game with your current thoughts and ideas and I'll try to point you in the right direction (a clue! my kingdom for a clue!).

That is a bit confusing. Didn't the quest say "You'll need to find three different sands"? That kinda hinted to me that I would need all three in my inventory together, even though that's not how the quest works. Could we consider clarifying that?

Having just done this quest for the first time a day or so ago, I think that the wording is tricky. However, in hindsight I think it is perfectly acceptable. The whole quest is wordplayific and you do need three different sands to comlete it. I'm hoping that the later quests are just as fun/clever.
