Well, I'm working on trying to get all the mundane equipment (all equipment except IoTM's, Ultra-rares, time limited content, derivatives of those items, and of course rentals) and I realized that I don't have the arena equipment yet. I'm usually not big on pVp, and am wondering if anyone has any hints on how to do well in this area.

There's not much you can do out of the gate to maximize your success. I would generally stick with one attack unless it's doing about half the damage your opponent is. Still, starting out, it's mostly just chance, but once you start, you'll be able to gaffle a couple tokens on defense, too.
