Some already have been. Other stuff gets borrowed (sometimes very loosely) when I'm looking for ideas. A lot of it is, unfortunately, either just not my style or doesn't quite fit anywhere at the moment.

Kewl beans. If you happen to need an external boost of ideas, my inbox is always open. Sometimes a writer (like me) needs to get away from what they themselves write and take a break.

I'd love to see something akin to this in the NCI Live building complex.

Noncombat: Unattended desk. Noticing that someone has slipped away to the toilet, smoke, flirt with a coworker, or is just too absorbed in their online game to notice you rummaging through their desk you help yourself to their goodies.

Gives choices: Combat Paperclip, Stapler, shocker pen, or skip adventure.

I see why you'd suggest that, but there was a conscious choice to get away from "everything's just a noncombat" and address the "most other skills don't help with quests" objections. We're still trying to work in that direction (note recent changes to Zion's quest and the probably-not-yet-really-observed adjustments to the protest). So adding a noncombat choice would be counter to the current plan.

I'm all for alternate methods of completing things, though, so something may be put in as a reasonable second option at some point. Don't hold your breath, though -- there's a long list of things that are more out of whack than those two drops.

I think equipment specific adventures would be interesting, particularly when tied to mettle equipment. For example, it would be cool if, while your character is a wearing Gloom's Blindfold, a wandering villain (perhaps Gloom's arch-nemesis) confused Gloom w/ your character and attacked. It would be even cooler if that wandering villain only showed up if you were wearing Gloom's Blindfold.

I can understand the choice to get away from non-combats though I never considered it until you just mentioned it. I like the changes in Zion's and I had fun poking around this run in the Protest though I am still far from having any knowing what our choices may do aside from giving us some new baddies and goodies. If we're looking for alternate methods perhaps an Overkill to ensure drops or some such. I've been playing a lot of Maso lately and even with Echo or MD maxed the stapler and paper clip have each added a day to a run and sometimes two days when they were both resisting. Bit of a bummer adding whole days to runs just trying to get one drop. I've heard complaints about the Capos and had some bad runs with them myself but I find I am more forgiving there as it's pretty early in the run rather than in the home stretch.

Be interested in knowing what you think is outta whack!

How about a new Rank and Dusty Maze item?

Accessory - Brash Tag
Effects - increased combat encounters/foe toughness?; increased item finds
Description outline - the brash tag tells everyone that you are gonna 'take out the trash'. Apparently, people think that it means them, and you are being quite rude.

How about an annual event tied to Girl Scout cookie sales? We could get new sugar items based on Samoas, Thin Mints, Tagalongs...

I'm making myself hungry now...

how about one of the post-mick quests that the quest reward is simply a key. The key is innocuous, mysterious, and fragile. You try every possible lock you can find, but it doesnt seem to open anything at all. Eventually, you give up, and retcon. low and behold, the key is the key to the mick's war chest, where prototype attachments to his suit are delicately hung. Obviously these prototypes were destroyed in the building explosion, but now, now they are yours. Unfortunately, the key broke, so you have to get a new one to unlock the war chest again.

Or maybe the guy on the video as a sidekick wielding this (and cutting himself every now and again).

IotM candidate?

The CARDIS. Vehicle. Range adjusts according to level, ends as infinite. reduced turn length based on level. Possibly something to do with restoring characters to their highest XP?

Flavor text: The CARDIS. Four wheels, blue, quite a bit roomier on the inside.

I suppose that weapon is the dream of every emo loool

I agree we need that, looks quite deadly! Of course, it would have disastrous fumbles thus no one would use it, but it is an amazing concept :P

War-Ease connection.

This connection to the Internet makes it easy to get your soft war on. Downloading code is much faster than beating people up to take their stuff, decrypting their stuff, and then combining their stuff to make software that works for you, today's busy hero.

This is a Hideout device. It allows the hero to download various code.

I had an idea for a new enemy in the Inner Sanctum, Admiral LXIV, based on the Commodore 64, of course.
He could drop the item: The Admiral's Snackbar. Your taste buds cannot withstand flavor of this magnitude! It's a T.R.A.P.! (Tasty, Really Awesome Pastry)

Also, how about a caffeine item in the Castle, to go with the stroopwafel?
I submit Blitzkrieg Pop, an energy drink made by Los Hermanos Ramones. Strangely enough, that pharmaceutical company also made a tranquilizer called "I Wanna Be Sedated".
You drink the Blitzkrieg Pop, and let out a cry of "Hey! Ho! Let's go!". What you want, I don't know, but you're all revved up and ready to go!

You should be able to use your transportation as a combat item when fighting outside, to run over whatever you're fighting. It would be an instant kill that causes the monster to drop all of its items, but it would totally kill the car, and you might lose some time walking back to your Hideout(Why don't you lose time after you destroy your motorcycle in NCI?).

It won't kill guys like The Mick, The Bard or the Octoron because they're inside. C'mon, you know this is an awesome idea.

It would be cool it the Gageteer class had more to do with combat usable items, maybe a recyclonizer type skill that lets you make your own "twilight-arangs" out of junk, or a Utility Belt skill that increases the damage done by combat items.

How about visiting the old trope where an unlikely paring of two of your previous foes team up and join forces against you?
For example: The Troutmaster and The Bard.
You could fight foes such as:

Julius Seahorse
Two Fishermen of Verona
The Urchin of Venice
The Mermaid Wives of Windsor
Largemouth Bassanio
etc.

It could take place in the Shiloh Sanitarium, or have multiple parings using all your past foes and have a "Legion of Doom" style area in the swamp. (Twilight has a swamp, right?) I'm not sure how to handle it though, as a quest maybe? It would have to be a higher level quest to ensure that you've already fought the previous villains. In that way, it wouldn't quite work as a special "multiple-day" type event.

Just thinking out loud...

New Player here, but I have a suggestion.

Can't-Can't Skirt
Assembled Item
Poofy Skirt + Fishnet Stockings
-30% Initiative
5% chance of stunning, possibly doubled if worn by male characters if that's possible

Some mention of the high kicks causing the stunning effect should be in the discription (especially of the, if possible, doubling due to being worn by male characters... who wants to see a guy wearing a skirt with fishnet stockings doing high kicks...)

Edit: Forgot to add in the name of the item... Doh!

I'm liking the new level 9 gadgeteer skill, gives you more options as to what transport to use in high level zones. You could build on it by having a new zone that can only be reached by a range 5 vehicle that has been aerodynamicised (i.e. making it range 6), probably something appropriately themed for a gadgeteer such as a big out of town electronics store, or, i dunno, a robot factory overrun by zombies.

Idea for a new zone,

Highway Chase: Enemies in this zone are all driving vehicles and you are chasing them in your vehicle, you only get a limited number of rounds in each fight before the enemy gets away from you and the fight automatically ends. The number of rounds you get in a fight would depend on the range of your vehicle, i.e. with a longer range vehicle you can keep up with the enemy for longer before they get away from you.

Turing Machine
Image looks like a typewriter connected to a big abacus

Offhand Item
Grants improved computer interaction, +25% drop rate (code items only)

This is a machine for turning socially awkward teenagers and caffeine into productive members of society, as long as they don't try to interact with society.

How Obtained
Combine Deterministic coin + Scorched coffee

Grand Turing Machine
Image looks like a typewriter connected to a car

Transportation
Range: 4
Grants improved computer interaction, occasionally Crashes*, Grants the effect “Garbage In, Garbage Out”**

If we made a car like Aaron made computers, it would crash twice a day for no reason.

How Obtained
Combine Turin Machine + Fuel Tank

*Crashes – Deals half of total HP damage at the start of an encounter (like in the Bard quest)
**Garbage In, Garbage Out – Autosells any loot you find for 110% of its autosell value.

Multi-use 50 Sophocles Monoclees to make a Giant Sunlight Magnifying Lens which is a (consumable) combat item that does 100% of foe's HP in Fire damage. When used against Sophocles, it destroys him once and for all. Or at least until you retcon.

I got an idea for the lvl 16 elemental skill:

Alchemy:
This skill will allow you to turn your foe into gold, literally speaking!

Effect: After each defeated foe you gain: (<foe xp worth> * 1% * S) chips

Example: After defeating a foe worth 100xp with 10 Skill points:
After defeating your foe, you manage to convert some of the leftover materials into gold, bringing you an additional 10 chips (100 * 0.01 * 10).

This will give some reward for killing high xp mobs that normally drops no chips (like the scaling ones). Maybe this needs to be a buff though since I assume converting stuff to gold can be a magical process thus requiring PP. Alternatively makes it a feature which can be switched on and off in the hideout like software and make it cost X PP after each combat. ;)

Okay, gonna try another idea.

First: Lead pipe + tacky grip = handle.

Then: handle +skateboard = Scooter.

Transportation

Range: 2-3 (probably a 2, based on precedent)

"Sure, it doesn't look as cool as the skateboard, but at least on this, you are a lot less likely to faceplant. Expect to get laughed at a lot, though."

-10 initiative

Chance of hysterical laughter (opening turn only: chance of an enemy failing to attack, but a low chance).

Name: Lizard Lady Lunatic

You are fighting a Lizard Lady Lunatic.

This oddly attractive reptilian rogue insists she did not come this far to let the likes of you get in her way. That's a guilty conscience if you ever heard one - you were just looking for the toilet.

Drops: Serpent Crown
Location: Outskirts of Area 54

Name: Serpent Crown
Helmet
Power: 100
Level Required: 13
Autosell: 200

Grants wearer the ability for super jumps
+15% Strength

A much weakened version of the crown could be an assembly of serpentskin + Royal Crown

I have 4 of one of the octotron fusion parts, and 1 each of 8 others. Given how few there are in the mall, I think it would be cool to have some sort of fusion transformer that "zaps" the parts. No creating new ones, so still one per ascension.

Idea for a villain:

Big Cheese:
He and his rabbit Flopsy are glad you could come to his little party.
But the problem is poor Flopsy is dead. And never called him mother. So soon you will all be dead, dead, dead, dead.
And because he is so evil, you'll die the slow way... under the drill.

Hit messages:

He draw his revolver and shot at you. That'll teach you to play hard to get.

He hits you for X damage.

Miss messages:

He want to shot you with a bazooka, but he remember he had just lend it to Brian.
He suddenly stops attack and try to persuade you there is nothing going on.

Fumble messages:

Your foe fumbles! He takes X damage.

Drops:

Chunk of Cheese:

Well, this is a chunk of cheese. which kind of? You can take a guess.
Double Gloucester? ...No. Cheshire? No. Dorset Blue Vinney? No.
Brie, Roquefort, Pont-l'Eveque, Port Salut, Savoyard, Saint-Paulin, Carre-de-L'Est, Boursin, Bresse Bleu, Perle de Champagne? No.
No matter which kind of, you'd better make the use of it before it becomes more running or cat gets it.

Miscellaneous Item
Usable

But I have no idea what's this item for. Some temporal effect?

Location: Shiloh Sanitarium or just a wander villain
