This game is a a good game, with many unique things. However, one unique thing is not wanted.

After rollover, I rejoice at the chance to play TH again. However, including all the possible caffeine I can ingest, I am done in 7 minutes. 42 patrols a rollover (not counting caffeine) is not very good. The unimproved bedtime needs to be set later. Items that allow extra patrols (or minutes, if that's your thing) during rollover should be implimented (alarm clocks?). Finally, there needs to be a better way to gain patrols (or minutes) during game-play.

Does anybody agree?

No.

If anything, the game gives TOO MANY turns. Once more stuff gets implemented and the game mechanics become more complex with various micromanaging and tweaking between turns, your game session time will increase exponentially.

The true appeal of the game is "getting back tomorrow". If people started getting fed up with cumbersome daily sessions they would quit altogether.

One thing I'd like is for bed time to rest you up. I logged in this morning to find that I had to rest for a turn in order to regain my total hit points, when, in theory, I had just been sleeping for 7 or 8 hours and then sitting at a desk job (or whatever) for another 8 hours.

In my opinion 5min/Adventure is the same as adventures in kol.
the method of minuets instead of turns has geat potential.

I think that the anount of minues per adventure/patrol should be more varying from adventure to adventure.
for example bosses will consume 10 mins , whereas patrolling at the university will take 3 min.

this way one could make better use of the time given to him every rollover instead of a set number of turns that he gets now.

I understand that this system has to be cearfully balanced but eventually I elieve this could imptuve gameplay a lot.

Whoops, I misread the "not including caffeine" line. Still, the baseline is just a baseline. If you're going to talk about turncount, you need to include caffeine to get an accurate picture. Plus adrenaline rushes when you level up, plus given just a few days you ought to get a reward which increases turncount even more.

No, you still don't get anywhere near as many turns as KoL, but I'm leaving room for more increasers. One of the higher-level quests will speed things up even more, and there will be better grades of caffeine and more (though rare) adrenaline rushes or things that are equivalent. Leaving room for future expansion (near future, I hope), means I've got to be conservative about it to start.

3.5 hours = 210 minutes.

210 + 120 (4 fancy lattes or equivalent) = 330 minutes.

330 / 5 minutes per action = 66 turns per day.

Add in the adrenaline boost from leveling up, and a new player can get around 70-80 turns out of his or her first few days.

Once a new player gets Heroic Efficiency, 330 / 4.5 = 73 turns per day. Plus any adrenaline boosts.

Once they're not leveling up as much, they can afford Mister Teas and Brays.

210 starting minutes + 270 (2 Brays and 2 cans of Gingerelle) = 480 minutes

480 / 4.5 = 106 turns

So assuming no level-ups and no rollover'd turns, 106 is the maximum number of turns per day.

Seems fine to me. As Ryme said, it leaves a lot of room for future development.

I like the system as it is. "Alarm clocks" and such would be a good idea, but not really necessary. And you can get LOTS of turns in one day if you try. Just start powerlevelling on a Frayday. Remember, how long your game takes is also tied to where you patrol, and since the new servers are so fast, so are your turns.

66 turns is the best use for average turns per day. It's using an achievable amount of chips for everyone, and it's always available once in range 1.

Bray can cost you 24 turns and 1200 chips just to get 2 to drink, and 1200 chips is a lot to spend. So you may only be gaining 18 turns anyway.
Gingerelle/ette is better but just as with Mr. Tea, they are not there all the time, and Mr. Tea is also quite expensive.
The Gingers will give you an extra hour, so 78 turns could be be a reasonable account, but that assumes you know enough, and always have enough chips, to stock up. This is may not a reasonable assumption when you take into consideration how ascension might happen, as you may not have access to past cash.

Turns seemed a bit short to me, but beta is beta, so who knows where it will end up. Although, characters not having a healing ability will probably be feeling it is even shorter since more turns are used up for rest.

The only comment I had when first entering was, 10:30? Who the hell goes to bed at 10:30?

You can use a Guatemalan pepperjuice instead of the two Gingerelle. It's only additional minutes, but hey.

Indeed. I don't think I've gone to bed before 11 in years.

Also, being a superhero as a job...will probably make you a very suspicious person. You gotta have SOME kind of cover.

Do you engage in the extreme physical activity that our supers generally do, night after night after night?

It's more 'afternoon after afternoon' right now. And they're supers, this includes mad stamina. :p

I like the bedtime thing, and I think there are enough turns. I've stocked up on Brays and Scalpels, and drink two of these and two Gingers a day. Admittedly, I'm running a bit low on the energy drinks and will probably have to con my way into getting some more, but... you know. :\

Anyway, this gets me plenty of turns. I find that I use them fairly quickly now, but that's partly because it doesn't take 8 hours now that the lag's gone.

Healing takes me 3 minutes, general adventures 4.5... when you're not going to bed til 4am this makes for plenty turns.

Kindof. I've been an insomniac on and off for about 7 years.

Made highschool that much harder. Makes college that much easier.

I've been finding it entirely acceptable to go to bed at 2:00 am and wake up at 6:00 am for work. That's been pretty much my schedule this year.

Of course, I don't have Saturdays so much anymore. But I wasn't going to do anything great with that time anyway, so sweet, sweet oblivion is welcome then.

There is nothing wrong with the whole bedtime system, considering the whole back story of the game. But what I find annoying is how the fame will tell me that my bedtime is 8am or later but at around 6:55 ish it says I am too tired and have to go to bed; and yes I do still have extra turns left to play. I dont' know if its a bug that limits how long you can play or it yer bedtime is just set at a particular time or what

At that time, it isn't your bedtime (If I'm not mistaken). It just says you have to get ready for work...

There's a whole bunch about this in the manual (which I strongly suggest reading) about this sort of thing. As mr "live long and do not try" SpockYoda points out, there's a difference between the "too tired" message and the "you have to work now" message. One would be a bug, but the other is normal. If you're getting the bugged one, let me know.

Nice melding of quotes, I like it... maybe I'll quote it on TH XD.
