I've gotten this message for the last hour or so:
Quote:
The game is in maintenance right now. Nobody is allowed to log in.

Something wrong? Is anyone else having this problem?

For an hour? Long rollover, but I just wanted to make sure it wasn't my computer, thanks.

EDIT, concerning below post:
I was just saying that, and I DO think it is probably some problems... particularly since there is a new server, and a new rollover time. I think the lack of maintenance page makes it a little suspicious...

Where's the cat? If this is just a long maintenence thingy, where's the cat? This plain bland page that just says "The game is in maintenance right now. Nobody is allowed to log in." is different from the cat page.

It's just ...weird. Are SpockYoda and me the only ones who think this is strange?

They do go to verify.php first. I'd say the game is simply locking people out while bugs are fixed or some such. Maybe someone's found an infinity bug or something.

A combination of being incredibly tired, being bored, and wishing to play Twilight Heroes has inspired me to write a series of Haikus, titled "I wish I could play Twilight Heroes, but I am getting more and more tired". Anyways, here it is:

Oh, Twilight Heroes
I miss thee terribly so!
Dang the Maintenance

A new friend you are!
I've played for only awhile
Wish I could play now

Understandably,
You're still in beta with bugs
Better now, not later!

...Okay, this is weird.
I posted this thread in Gameplay/Discussion and it was immediately locked.
Then, in an edit to my post, IcyFreak directed me here.
...and you guys seem to have no more idea than I do.

That's because it's a bug not a gameplay issue.

But if it is a bug, and the mods know *something* is up, why won't they respond?

1) It's spelt "thread".
2) I provided as much of an explanation as I could give. I don't know any better than you do why this is happening.
3) I'm not going to watch threads show up where they shouldn't be.
4) A locked thread is better than a deleted one, because someone else would have posted it if you did not.

They did respond, they linked you to the thread where everyone's responding.

Either it's some sort of lockdown for a bug (possible) or it's a server hiccup of some sort. Or something else entirely...

It's not a server hiccup, that much I can assure you of. Everyone's directed to verify.php as usual, but not everyone's allowed to pass through.

So that points to a bug lockdown. Unless there's another reason, but why else would the game be left up and running?

Hmm. Might be some change was made to the verify.php page? Maybe implementing new security measures and typo'd somewhere? Or of course lockdown.

1) Thanks for the spelling correction, although I did fix it, even before you made the corrective post.
2) Thank you for your explanation.
3) I honestly thought this long and complete of an outage could apply to either forum, but this thread far predates mine, so discussion should go here.
4) Agreed, and now that thread points here.

mods can only moderate chat, they have a direct way of contacting Ryme as well..they do not however have access to the game code or the ability to fix bugs :) They are like costomer service..but we don't pay anything and they don't get paid :P

This thread has gone far enough. Nothing new is being added to the discussion. When someone who does know what's going on comes by, they also have the ability to post in a locked thread anyway.

EDIT: I realise you probably want a place to talk. There's an IRC channel over here.

Hm. Sorry about that. A teensey tiny little oversight in the rollover script left the game flagged as still being in rollover.

On top of that, apparently the contact form from the home page is broken with the move to the new server, so I didn't get any email alerts that the game was done. So I didn't realize people were being locked out. It should be open again.

That also means the bug report links probably aren't working, along with that contact page, and I'm not even getting emails when PMs are sent to me here at the forums. If you really need to reach me, a PM here is probably the best way to make sure it goes through. I'll have this fixed as soon as I can figure out what's going on.
