Simply, What music are you listening to now? What music have you enjoyed recently?

I have been listening to and enjoying FFVII: Voices of the Lifestream and a group called Within Temptation recently.

Voice of the Lifestream is an album done by a group of OCRemix.org members. It basically recreates the music of FFVII. The tracks range from "Meh" to "Holy ----!"
Within Temptation is a symphonic metal band from the Netherlands. Amazing female vocalist.

(Mods: Sorry if there is already a topic on this, however I couldn't find one.)

LIES. VotL has no mediocre tracks! It's all psychological!

(it really is. Silly genre biases. BAD ZELANDONI!)

EDIT

Right, on topic post. >.>

Right now right now I'm listening to Harder Better Faster Stronger. No particular reason than to know where all the beats are for breakdancing to it, really. It and the remix of Aerodynamic are really awesome, no doubt. I've been really rampant throughout my playlist otherwise.

For the most part, I listen to Rammstein and Nine Inch Nails. Everything Rammstein has ever done is the definition of awesome, and anyone who disagrees is wrong. Or just hasn't listened to the right song; there's some variety to be found in their music.

Similarly, I've always liked Nine Inch Nails, but With Teeth and Year Zero were, to my ears, exceptionally exceptional. Not so much the Fragile.

Apologize by One Republic. Hadn't heard it before tonight when someone linked me the youtube video.

I was enamored.

What Jesus said, except add in Dream Theater, Disturbed, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC and a bunch of other classic rock bands.

i've been listening to a lot of musical soundtracks, because i am just that awesome. in particular, the soundtracks from "songs for a new world" and "wicked".

other than that, i listen to a lot of stuff that most people have never heard of, like lovedrug, the pink spiders, and five iron frenzy. and hanson. seriously.

I know. I watched Live aus Berlin with my mom. She likes them too.

That was kind of a "We'll never speak of this" moment.

Heh. My brother and I saw them in '98. We had much the same reaction.

Rammstein. Double the fun since I actually understand the texts (the perks of speaking german, I guess).
edit: As for disturbing Live-Performance, the Mein Teil act from the Reise Reise tour was even /more/ of a WTF moment than the argueably WTFish B?ck Dich already. At least I thought so.

Apart from that, right now as in this moment I am listening to Serj Tankian and his wonder-love-ful Elect the Dead album.

All I can say is Lie, Lie, Lie. That track is fantastic,.

Right now? The James Gang. They're the only band I've listened to for two weeks, I think.

i've been listening to a lot of girl talk. if you haven't heard him i highly suggest checking him out. its all sample based from top 40. and along those lines, ocdj. he makes 'candy crunk'/mashups of rap and music inspired by 8-bit gaming.

Yeah, I listen to classical
*Waits to have rocks thrown at him*
Beethoven is my favorite, but lately I've been listening to a new Gershwin CD a friend gave me. Yay Rhapsody in Blue and other cool songs!

Jesus, you're right, Rammstein are indeed awesome. I've yet to experience them live, as I missed them the last time they came to England. Not only is the music great, but I love how so many of the lyrics have two of more interpretations to them, it's so great.

My favourite band of all time would have to be the Doors (so what if the Lizard King died nearly 18 years before I was born?), because they are just... incredible. I recommend everyone to give them a try, and a second try, and then a third. If you still don't like them, I'll give you a full* money-back** guarantee***.

*may or may not be full
**no legal tender will be transferred
***not actual guarantee

Not James.

Sufjan's fun. Sensitive songs about zombies, gay love stories, and Carmen Pulaski day: the most depressing song I've ever heard.

Queensryche.

With a heavy metal umlaut over the y, but I don't know how to do umlauts in bbcode.
