May's bounty - conversion/upgrade processes

Not obvious at all, actually. Unless you mean to say that having gold is a WoW reference.
Meat as a currency is a KoL reference. Metal named after meat is not.

1) Elemental Rebalancing - Forget that nonsense you learned in chemistry, every object is made up of the four elements, and the balance between them is what gives things their unique properties. With your mastery of the elements, you are now able to tamper with that balance. Hope you know what you're doing.

2) Molecular Meddling - You can only take things apart and reassemble them in so many different ways in the macro scale. But with an electron microscope here and a nanobot there... well, you can make shiny new toys out of the stuff you've already got.

3) Canadium - cold
Cranium - phychic
Electrum - electric
Thompsium - acid (after Hunter S. Thompson)
Venerabum - sonic (If it's too loud, you're too old)

Terracottite - brittle (to be combined with other things as in modern body armor)
Pedantium - large number of minor effects
Ireite - +melee (play on Pyrite)
Pandamonium - random effects (watered-down version of what makes the Dreampants and Sports bra)

Pentium. Obviously taken from Intel, but also can be a derivative of "pent up anger" or "penta-" as in 5.

cowardium or (cowardicium) - makes items that increase foe toughness
audacium or (audacitium) - makes items that decrease foe toughness
potencium - increases strength
obstinacium - 25% chance of not being defeated on a 'killing' blow
acutium or (acuticium) - increases dodge

By the way, the month is wrapping up very quickly so if you've got ideas, get 'em out here. You've got only 3 days (including today) left, so make it quick. Unless Ryme wants this to extend.

Elemental power: Raggedy Annealing
Gadgeteer power: Particle Exceleration

Metals:
Crepusculum
Kelvar (maybe a cold metal as opposed to infernium's heat)
Aurichalcum
Obsidium
Quarksilver

Based on the periodic table, you could upgrade titanium to zirconium, and then to hafnium. (Either a whole sheet of hafnium or half a sheet of wholenium).

Lots of great ideas have been posted already. Nice work, everybody!

Okay, I'm going to call this closed. Obviously it'll take me a few days to go through the list and pick out some of the top candidates. I'll post here as soon as I've got some decisions. Thanks to everyone who submitted entries!

I'd like to take a moment to thank everybody else who participated. This the second bounty win I've been involved in, and I'd like to announce I will no longer be participating.

This may be shocking, but I want a chance for the little people to achieve their dreams too. After all, who is to say that just because you're so awesome, nobody else should be able to do well in life?

Also- be willing to make compromises. You won't see Cock-and-Ballsium in the game- Ryme's still the boss and you need to concede to certain things. You may feel like God- but there are always people a /bit/ higher than you on the ladder of success.

I have decided on the metals I'm going to use. I have not decided whether it's better to spill all their names now, or wait until it's implemented and then let people find them. Just wanted to let people know progress is being made.

The first bits of this went live today. As you'll see, the Elemental skill is Metalmorph. I think Fly Die 0 suggested Metamorph, but I figured sticking the L in there made it a little more fun. They'll still get credit for the suggestion, though.

The two metals thus far invoked are cryonite (Mighty Coyote) and Cavorite (Bienenstock).

There shall be more to come as soon as I can get it ready.

With the newest skill comes another round of credits:

Rykar - catalyze

The Supernaturalist - Polysteel

JazzTap - Tritanium

-----

I've got more elements planned, but probably will break for a bit first. In the meantime I'll put together some thank-you packages for the contest winners thus far.

I'm always terrible at wrapping this contests up. Probably shouldn't have them at all, but I hope people find them fun, and I do get good game-improving things out of them. Anyway, I've decided on what will be the eventual total metal use, even though a number of them won't be implemented for a while. Wanted to get rewards out to those who earned it, just so I could kind of close this up.

Prize winners are:

Fly Die 0 - Metalmorph
Rykar - catalyze

cryonite (Mighty Coyote)
Cavorite (Bienenstock)
Polysteel (The Supernaturalist)
Tritanium (JazzTap)
Illuminum (Started with Cristiona's Illudium and then decided to change it a bit, but she gets credit)
Paladinum (well, this one is me)
Byzantium (sanjuro)
Pentium (Magininja)
Malkamite (seventhcross)

Those 9 will be the hero crafting metals, once I eventually add paladinum, byzantium, pentium, and malkamite.

Winners get a prize box that will give them 10 of each metal, including the 4 unimplemented ones.
