Tagline/slogan for the game?

Talk about the game. What game? The game with the power? What power? The power of ... aw, skip it.

Tagline/slogan for the game?

Post by Ryme »

For a long time I've felt that Twilight really needs a pithy tagline or slogan which could be put on the home page to kind of get across the point of the game. For a long time I've failed to come up with that tagline. So now I'm open to suggestions, if any of you have any.

Ideally the tagline would indicate ...
a) that it's a game
b) that you get to be a hero
c) that there's some humor involved

I'd prefer to avoid having to pay royalties to KoL for licensing the phrase "A superhero is you!" or paying both KoL and Bashy for the phrase "A superhero am you!". Nor do I desire to pay Tolkien's estate for the phrase "Superheroeses are youses, precious ..."

So if anyone has any ideas, post 'em here!

I'll list some other of my rejected ideas shortly.

Rejected ideas

- Forget the cheerleader, save the world.

- Fighting crime -- old skool! Word!

- Shave the cheerleader, shave the world.

- When there's nothing else, superheroes float.

- My night job is fighting crime.

- A hero is as a hero does.

- Mmmm .... superheroes.

- The fun web-based superhero game.

- Robbin' Hood: Superheroes in Tights

- Tights, a cape, and a city full of crime

- Fighting for truth, justice, and a bottomless cup of coffee

- Only you can prevent forest fires, car fires, and arson.

- Keeping the criminals clean and the streets behind bars.

- Putting the "free" in "crime-free town"

- It's like KoL but smaller and less complete

- Putting insomnia to good use

- Putting security guards out of business

- A man, a plan, a canal: Twilight!

- The city needs you, but all you need is love.

- Who needs to sleep anyway?

My brother has just suggested the following, all of which might have potential:

Twilight Heroes
When the Sun Goes Down, Evil Gets Its Comeuppance

Twilight Heroes
Justice Delivered Nightly

Twilight Heroes
Saving the Night
(a play on heroes "saving the day")

I told my brother to blend the first two, and this is what he gave me.

Twilight Heroes
When the Justice, Delivered Comeuppance

And also suggested:

Twilight Heroes
Crime Picked the Wrong Night to Fight

(could also replace "crime" above with "evil.")

Twilight Heroes
A Long Night's Journey Into Day

Twilight Heroes
A Nightly Slice off Vice

Prestige, those are some excellent parody phrases.

I would have also gladly accepted: With great power comes great super.

Which leads to: With great soup comes great salad.

Which leads to utter silliness, so I'll stop now.

Given that I haven't actually posted up to now, I'm rather confused.
Justice Delivered Nightly
Saving the Night
My personal preferences. I'm really not the sort of person who's able to come up with new stuff, and I don't think I'll be able to. What I do think is that a slogan ought to be short and easy to understand. If people want to delve for another, deeper meaning, or just figure out what it's based off, that's fine, but it has to make sense taken at face value.

Did that make any sense at all?
Have a nice day.

Let's go be Good Guys.
(Stolen from Firefly)

For Great Justice!
(Sorry, had to)

Crime never sleeps, but then crime doesn't have a job.

It's one o'clock in the morning. Would you like some coffee?

It's 3 o'clock in the morning. Do you know where your Bray Energy Drink is?

Grab your pyjamas and your mask: it's time to hand out some street justice.

Amusing, and certainly worth being an unofficial one.
- My night job is fighting crime.
I kinda liked this one.

I like the simplicity of "Justice Delivered Nightly"

My suggestion that just comes to mind now would be "Punch the clock, then punch some thugs", but it seems a bit odd now that I see it written

Very cool. Justice Served Nightly. I think we've got ourselves a slogan.

Now I guess I ought to get cracking on making a design out of it.

Really depends on what kind of photoshop you're wanting. I'm alright with some things in GIMP.
Other things, not so much

EDIT: Just had to fix my spelling

If you haven't noticed, the slogan was already decided on. Anyway, c'mon, we don't need to copy KoL for a slogan.

This thread should probably be locked; Twilight Heroes already has a slogan.
