I'm thinking of trying to get the charm but I'm not that great against scaling monsters. Any strategies or tips you'd like to share?

Unfortunately, the first one on the top of my head is use an Aegis. But that's almost absurd.

Buff up your stats as much as you can. They scale to your level only.

I think Cris will end up giving you the best advice though.

The pit's not too bad, really. Assuming you don't have donation items:

It you aren't adverse to changing talismans, use the World Series Ring for the elemental resistance. Another good source for that is the Smart Suit. Of course, there's also Biofeedback and various other minor sources. One source often overlooked is the Forcegloves.

If you're using spells, max your output: enerbun sphere, pandimensional sceptre, and so on.

If you're using Naturalist abilities, you'll probably want whichever star it is that gives PP leech (morning or mourning; I can never remember). The leech still works when you're using your trample or whatever.

Gadgeteers or people just wanting to hit with a stick? Good luck. Boost your to-hit and damage. Astral Splines or Quill Blades will probably be a good place to start.

Don't neglect your offhand either. If you aren't putting a +spell damage item there, get a roboto shield. For other slots, just put whatever you want, the more power the better. If just hitting, you'll want a Scottish Necklace too.

Other than that, consider things like Lovers' Lockets or the Ambulance/Luxura. They're minor benefits, but every little bit helps.

Beyond that, don't forget the sidekick slot. Old Coins, Mismatched Earrings, Clockwork Armadillo, or, hell, the kid from the pizza shop. Anything that prevents or reduces damage will help. With a little planning, you'll only be taking minor damage each round.

If you have IotM access, then you'll just slot those in where needed (Fighting Club and Aegis/Zorromir's mainly).

I'm able to make it through the Pit fine as a Gadgeteer (Psions and Elementals could probably do this, too), without a Smart Suit, Shield, or Necklace.

See, I'm using both a Morning Star and an Ebon Eye... of course, the latter is a UR and often hard to get. But the +10% PP leech lets me First Aid my way through the pit, and with PP to spare.

I guess this strategy becomes less viable now that there's a shiny new melee -time per turn item... I suppose HP leech could work, from the Necklace.

And if you don't have an Ebon but do have a Ring, the Ring probably at least helps.

And, Cris, it's Morning star that gives PP leech.

Use a lot of buffs before starting combat.
use items/services/skills to heal between fights.
Get and use the best weapon and equipment you can.
Get a good sidekick.
Keep at it, it will seem slow but just keep at it and eventually you'll succeed!

As an elementalist I used the pandimensional scepter and the ebon eye of the deep talisman however I think the corrupt amulet (which is significantly easier to get ahold of) would work in it's place. Also, pretty much anything else that increased spell damage and just use firestorm on everything. It'll only take 2 hits (or 3 to 4 for the fire resistant monsters) to kill anything and the damage they'll do is negligible. That and you have lifeblood manipulation anyway...
