Okay, let's try that again...

Wow, this zone is pretty great when you compare it to other areas. It feels robust, having multiple non-combats that offer more options than simply "click past this one to get to the next combat, collect 200 chips," which becomes annoying in other areas. A lot of varied new drops is another plus, even if you aren't into their enchantments/creations and just wanna autosell them for their value. Awesome stuff, Ryme!

As far as I'm concerned, this is the template for new zones in the future. What do you guys think?

I have no opinion whether it exists or not.

Can we just lock this thread or is it going to be un-pwnd at some point?

It'll get unpwned very soon, no worries.

When I saw there was a new zone, I immediately came here to the forum to see what people were saying about it. And I find ... absolutely nothing.

So does this 48-hour spoiler ban preclude any discussion at all? Or just the more "secret" stuff?

I kinda think some of the potions that can be made there are... well way overpowered;

+100% int, str and ref
+10%exp

Seems a bit over the top in my opinion going to be too easy to lvl.

You are correct - and it should be scaled back very quickly I expect.

Except that this zone basically requires at least a level 20/25 minimum and can only be the best EXP zone for so long.

Fastastic! Something for everyone: decent experience points + chips, mysterious new recipes and equipment. Great content and beautiful art work.

I would like to see a "credits" link for this game, come to think of it. Especially one for the graphic artists. Who are they?

I'm level 17 and Psionic Blasts seems to 2 or 3 shot most things there, *gasp* I might have to up my MP regen and go there instead of the Cube.

I agree about the potions looking like power creep. However, the equipment drops don't have anything special in terms of power. In fact, having looked them over extensively, I find no reason to use any of them. In terms of XP gains: We already have multiple scaling zones with unlimited access, so this area's gains don't add up to anything compared to that. That leaves chip drops as the final example of supposed power creep. The Cube lasted for a long time as the farming zone, so it had to happen sometime. *shrugs*

As the highest level zone in the game (non scaling) this conclusion is entirely appropriate. As linkarade points out, it may or may not be that dramatic, but the equipment bonuses are still to come.

Hehe. This is always my favorite mispelling of my character name, as it brings up thoughts of a huge parade of Links running through the streets. No worries, I get it all the time in KoL chat. ;)

Wow! I've always read it as "linkarade" too. Didn't realize it is "linakrade" until you pointed out the misspelling.

Whoa. Same here. That's really crazy. You really had us fooled for this long! And I'm usually the one with the mispronounced name ("mangina", of course). :?

There isn't very much power creep, or it's negligible because everyone can eventually access this area, so...yeah. It's a power creep when we have the snowcone effect from KoL.

Ok, so you can't classify it as power creep. Can we at least settle with power increment? Power++? Imperceptibly small increase in power?

Sure, it's a perceptible increase. I just felt it was a warranted increase due to the game progressing into higher level zones that don't scale. I'm absolutely shaking your hand here. :)

Sorry, linakrade, for the misreading. Forums and chats, where the names scroll by off to the side, tend to get me. On another forum I've been calling "cariboudoggy" the name "cardiobuggy" for about 2 years now.

well, the lustrous potions could be an awesome precursor to the advent of new uberbossy monsters, that actually require either a cristiona type level or these potions

I've been adventuring here a lot the past week or so, and I've gotta say I love how much narrative there is in this section, even though it has no true quest associated with it yet (if it ever does- but I'm sure it will in some way).

One thing I'm wondering about is the alchemy stuff like the lustrous liquid, black flakes, etc. that has description yet. Are they not supposed to in order to promote mystery as to their effects, or are they not implemented yet? Just curious.

Thought as much. I kinda like the idea of them being too mysterious to even have descriptions, but I'm looking forward to them being implemented regardless.

Basically, if the content (ie: mechanics) are good to go, and it's not related to a quest, it's likely to be pushed out (see: quill blade). It's only when it's tied in with a quest that it's imperative that everything be done and ready to go when it's pushed live (see: level 8 quest).
