Technically, that post wasn't an introduction. It should be deleted!

Hi, my name's Ryme and I invented this game. And by "invented" I mean "borrowed a lot from other games I really like to try to put something together that's original enough not to get me sued."

I'm about to hit six digits (in binary); I'm married, no kids, three cats, one dog, and live in sunny Colorado, which is by far my favorite of all the states. I grew up in the midwest, but the lack of mountains drew me west about five years ago, and I couldn't be happier out here.

Despite the fact that this is a superhero themed game, I actually never spent much time with comics and graphic novels and tend to prefer the fantasy genre both for entertainment and for gaming. Heroes of Might and Magic is probably my top gaming series (with Civilization a close second and Diablo in third, closely followed by some of the RPG classics, like the SSI D&D games and Bard's Tale).

I'm an avid fan of KoL, obviously, and go by Preniqueezer and Shadowsquared over there.

When I'm not inventing computer games, I brew my own beer, play frisbee golf, hike in the Colorado mountains, and bowl in a local league. I used to be something of an aspiring fiction writer, and I've got one unpublished novel that I'm quite proud of and two rough drafts that have some potential, but these days working on Twilight seems to meet my creative outlet.

My day job involves a blend of tech support and web site programming. I like the web aspects the best, and have been making web sites professionally for a decade. My first site--the duct tape art gallery that's still visible on Quirkz.com--made me briefly popular world-wide in 1997, and was really the first in a long string of random events that ought to have been too fantastic to be true, but it's amounted to an entertaining decade.

I also freelance as a copy editor, having completed nearly 50 books from Pearson Press, the folks who do the Complete Idiot's Guide series. I've done a little video work, too, editing two of the Scott Stokely Disc Golf Instructional Videos (volumes 2 and 3). Once upon a time I was first author for an e-book about darts called Dart Basics: Dart Rules, Games, and More. You'd think that would be exciting, but I don't own the rights to the book and it's only sold two or perhaps three copies, so far as I know, so it doesn't count for much.

I am Devant but feel freely to use my real name, Pavlos.

My birthplace and current residence is the city of Thessaloniki, second largest in Greece. I am in a lovely relationship that as of today (date of post) has completed exactly 10 months of life. I am 20 years and 178 days old. I am half Greek half Italian and have lived for about 3 years in total in Italy.

I am a Software Engineer and curently work with my father (a chemist, mechanic engineer and the last living fan of Colonization) at projects related to automated irrigation, fertilizer production and water purification.

I am a great fan of strategy games putting the Warcraft series at the top (WoW excluded) hand by hand with Starcraft and the X-Com series following a colse second. I also adore RPGs but since I play mostly Pen and Paper D&D and Vampire:TM, I am a bit too selective for CRPGs. I like Neverwinter Nights (which I am curently re-re-re-playing) and the old good Menzoberanzan.

I play D&D from my early 11s and I declare myself cut from the comercialization of the concept. In short, I own the three core books and like to do the rest by my imagination.

I also used to play a lot of Magic:TG (Istarted the same year I started D&D) but I am not the tourney type so I now play rarely and only with friends.

I consider programming to be the 64th art (for 'obvious' reasons) and I am pretty obsessed with mathematical optimization. My favorite (due to being my first and yes, I know how much crap it is) language is Visual Basic and this is the language I use at work mostly because of extreme deadlines. I also program in C++, PHP, JAVA and use Pascal to teach programming when I have time for part time jobs.

During the course of many best-left-unspoken RPG experiences I 'invented' an RPG system that can be played over coffee using your own palm as character sheet and playing rock-paper-scissors for RNG.

I adore fantasy literature and have read everything Jules Vern, Tolkien and Salvatore related giving special mention to "The Carabine Fairy" as the best literature satire out there.

My favorite film is the Matrix and since my work does not require constant office presence I have adopted Neo's style which is the first thing on me that vehemently cries "GEEEEEK!"

I own the patents for two applications, both related to PLC monitoring and I am expecting publishing of a third one, related to custom PLC forms. In the future I plan to write software capable to facilitate comunication between different PLC families (mostly LG and Siemens).

In the past, I made a web based RPG, heavily based on RP and less statistic-wise (it was named Loico Irin. I hope you own an Elven dictionary :P) but I failed to popularize it and abandoned it after two years.

My most prominent worry is the obligatory one and a half year of military service in the Greek Army.

Mmm... Bard's Tale. They really need to make a fourth in the series (the PS2 one doesn't count; same guy, but just not the same). I mean, sure, you ascend to godhood and become stars, but still...

Oh shit! I posted spoilers! :P

And, hi; I'm Cristiona. I'm also pointlessly mysterious that I won't tell anything more about myself. :D

I go around by the name frost_maze. Call me Ken if you want.
If you're reading this, then you are too clever by half.
I'm still at secondary school so I don't have anything to say apart from 'life is boring and monotonous'. Oh, and I'm 13.
I go to St Paul's school. Posh. Yeah, I know.
Yeah. That's it.
I'm hoping to go to MIT to study Electronic Engineering.
Oh yeah, I live London (the English one... yeah, there are more than one Londons in the world)
But I have to get a scholarship there otherwise my parents aren't paying. Bugger.
And I wish I could play Magic:TG. I used to play it a lot with friends but since we all moved up to secondary school, they stopped playing. :( I'm the only person who plays now but I don't have anybody to play it with.
My favorite colour in Magic:TG is blue because I'm a very tricksy sort of player.
Oh, and I like online comics. If I'm allowed to name names, then I like Sore Thumbs, +EV, Terror Island, and xkcd.

I'm also an avid player of KoL. I run around there by the same name. Just like every other online game I've ever played.

(I feel jealous. Adults get lots of different things to do but children just go to school.)

Greetings.

I usually go by the internet handle IcyFreak. Seeing as none of you can pronounce my real name, I won't bother to tell it.

Yes, I am confident that you won't. Maybe with the exception of the people I invited, but then they wouldn't need a forum post to tell them.

Hi, I'm all new and stuff. Like probably most of you, I play KoL. (Same name, by the way.) While I've only been playing for a day, I already love the game and plan to stick around for a long while.

Also, it feels great to be a n00b desperately waiting for more turns again. :P

Hi kids.
I am Enterthewumpus.
I discovered this game via comments made by some guy on some sort of not-a-podcast.
I play online games very casually, and don't do a whole lot of socializing in chats. As you may have surmised, I play KoL as well, under the screen-name enterthewumpus. In real Life, my closest friends call me Crispy, and i spend my time playing video games and being 18.
Gotta say, I'm very excited to have found Twilight heroes. I joined KoL after ascension rolled, so watching this game 'grow up' from a fairly early point will be really neat.

Live long or prosper.

Hey guys, I'm MagiNinjA, usually shortened to MANA. Call me whichever one you like. Or some other silly nickname out of my name like mangina.

I'm of the same name in KoL. Same clan as Ryme.

We'll start generic. I came to TH because another KoL friend of mine who mentioned it and then pointed me to Ryme. Love the art and text. The system is a nice refresh from KoL too. :)

Well, there's all you MTG people. And then there is me. Oh, and Gavisi. We play Magi-Nation Duel (where the magi in my name came from), though we haven't played each other yet (time :( ).

Right now, IRL (a real WHAT?), I'm a senior in a Californian high school at this time of writing, an odd 17 years old. I'm a huge music person. I've been playing the violin for almost 11 years now, and I'm into quite a widespan of music that's usually not mainstream (mainly electronica and breakbeat). I also like to screw around with swords in kendo. For the curious, I'm a sankyu right now. A third belt (well, "belt") from shodan aka black belt.

I'm decently stuck into programming. I have quite a few KoLmafia scripts and I know C/C++ and Java. I was one of the main programmers for our school's robotics team. Anyways, I'm being lazy in learning Ruby, but I do want to learn it.

I love contributing to projects such as these in some shape or form. People have told me that I'm waaaay too nitpicky on things sometimes. >.>

'k, this is getting long. I love being geeky also (Devant. :) ) and one of my favorite series has been the Matrix series. I like to play DnD when the chance is available. Honor, respect and morals are very important to me, for reasons unknown to myself. >.<

For more gameplay specific aspects (this'll be short I PROMISE), I tend to focus around PvP and combat mechanics a LOT, with speed runs a bit off to the side.

Yeah, I'll probably end it there. Sorry and thanks for reading. X_X I feel a bit too narcissistic for my own good. :(

I'm TheK3vin, but you can call me by my real name, TheK3vin. I just started playing today, and I'm liking the game and the community. I like video games.
Updated for some current information:
I am awesome.

I figure I shall post here now.
Found this place through talking with somebody that was playing already.
I was trying to get him to play some other game, and he said something like, "I'm too busy playing Twilight Heroes."

But anyway, I go by Olaf, OlafTheGreat, OlafTheMediocre nowadays over on KoL, which I've played for a few years.

I'm 20, from central California (seriously, the official center of California is a 20 minute drive from here), and currently studying drafting.
I do some programming in my free time, PHP, QBASIC, some C, and used to screw around with Visual Basic 5 in highschool.
I started working on my own web game (post-apocalyptic themed), but my lack of experience with SQL has it now only able to log in and add or subtract money from your account. It's not even on the internet, but on my laptop running through localhost.

Don't have a very exciting job, so I won't even tell you what it is.
My time is usually spent sitting around having movie scenes that don't (yet) exist flying around in my mind (usually p-a or steampunk-ish) or reading. I like some sci-fi/fantasy, John Grisham (courtroom drama), Tom Clancy (only the spy ones, not that political stuff), H2G2, Catch-22, and murder mysteries. I think Heinlein's a quack, but like Asimov.

Maybe more added later when I think of something.

Hello hello!

Just wanted to stop by and introduce myself. I'm Clackling (aka Dave), I come from KoL (and Coldfront, to be more precise). I like parentheses (to the extreme).

I'm 20 years old, currently in college outside of Boston, and I really am enjoying my first day of TH. It's been very well made, and I can't wait to see you guys in-game.

Gavisi here. Ryme gave me the link to Twilight Heroes in the Hardcore Oxygenation forums. Few reasons I like it:

-Love the art style
-Not to be rude to the KoL staff, but I think Ryme's more understanding of diamonds, so I see this game being awesome for diamonds in the future. Or at least I can hope >_>
-I'm permanently a have-not in KoL for a lot of stuff. Here, I can capitalize on the newness of the game. Selfish gains are always nice, eh?

I'm a 15 year-old male, sophomore in a Maryland high school. I had a small role in The Sound of Music last here; this here, I have a fairly significant role in The Mousetrap. I play clarinet in marching band, but I'm planning to pick up the saxophone in time for marching band and band classes next year.

Despite my extracurricular life, I'm actually more of a math and science person. I plan to do something with computers for a career. Programming is the one of the few classes in school that holds my interest.

I'm Gavisi in KoL too. Once/if speed ascending in KoL comes back, I'll do that half the time. Other half the time, I'll spend trading, in /games, and PvPing.

So yeah. If you read all of that, thank you.

Errr.

So uh, I'm dvmaprezson in KoL just as well, refounder of alliance from hell, that's probably my only real claim to fame there, besides speed ascending, where I've set several quick times, the fastest being a 225 turn booze run which is 5th all time. Also have the 7th fastest oxy ever. Anyways...

Been bored with KoL, and a clannie is basementing my character for me, so in the meantime, I'll play this, and probably keep on playing, even if I get back into KoL competitively. The game, as a whole, seems really cool. Mad props to Ryme.

Anyways, about myself. I'm Larry, 21 years old, male, going to college for business, not sure if I want to stay in college, and working part-time at Best Buy. I live just south of Philadelphia, right on the border of Delaware. Yay, no sales tax. As a matter of a fact, I work in Delaware, what a tax nightmare.

As far as gaming, I love my xbox 360, and play lots of halo 3. Still keep meaning to pick up a few more games, but don't feel like spending the money, ya know? I still kind of play KoL, but not really at the moment. That's about all in that respect of my life.

I haven't really accomplished much in life, but that's ok by me. Yay, apathy. I consider myself to be an extreme underachiever; I'm easily capable of great things, but I just don't give a fuck. Sometimes I wish I wasn't so lazy. But eh, what can ya do? Work at it?

I'm JF, same name (the long one, not the one that makes me think of US presidents, underscore rather than a space) in KoL. Linkage was given on the main forums for testing. Played around for a while, real life hit me over the head with a metaphorical fryingpan and time for internet games became scarce. Later on, browsing the main forums and the name for a radio show twinges my memories and I returned! It's like finding a whole new game since so much of it is different.

19 years old, going to university studying law (and dropping Chemical Engineering <_<). My current job is the incredibly exciting task of stacking supermarket shelves. THE LABELS GO TOWARDS THE FRONT OF THE SHELF!

Let's see here.

I found this game because of KoL, as it seems many did. I am completely unknown in KoL, but my username is the same on there as here, if anyone wants to know.

I'm 16, male. I live in Oklahoma. I'm currently a Junior in High School, I play trumpet in the Band. I plan on majoring in physics in college, hopefully at MIT.

This game has been quite enjoyable, so far. I'll be sticking around awhile, as I believe it will be interesting to see the development of an online game and community like this first-hand.

'ello.

I'm Chineselegolas, but please, call me CL. I'm even called it in RL... Yeah... I have strange friends... But we hang out and play DnD so what can you expect.

Found my way here from KoL, during rollover (When I had actually planned to study for my exams... (And still mean to at some stage...))

Yeah, anyhow, I'm a University Student, who lives at home. (Free food, internet and board (And a very finely stocked liquor cabinet (Several lovely single malts)). What else could an 18 year old geek ask for?)

I'm 17 from New Zealand and I haven't quite decided how to pronounce my username yet.

I've been playing this game long enough to remember the good old days before this lag (read: two days). Got exams in two weeks so I found this game looking for any excuse to not study :)

I'm Kyle, going by Infernum in-game. I've played all kinds of RPG's online and off, probably starting with KoL back in June 2003.

I'm 16, and I dabble in most things on the internet including web design, programming, and hardware.

Anyway, I hope to be a member of the community and help to make this game a hit;)

I'm NJ. 18 years old, economics student. Same name in KoL (and SwordsDancer there too) I was linked here, like a lot of others, from the HCN subforums. Haven't had much time to play at all, but hopefully I'll poke around more at the end of the year.

hi folks, i'm cromulentia in-game (and becky IRL). i found my way here thanks to the front page of the KoL wiki, and am thoroughly enjoying my time here so far.

well, as essentially everyone else has listed their gaming experience, i guess i can share mine, although its really not much. i've been playing kol since maybe february i think (i go by the same name there, as well as donkey lips). i actually don't own any gaming systems (its true!), so i've become pretty attached to PC games such as civilization and morrowind.

so what else can i ramble on about....

well, i'm a 21 year old college student, with only one more semester to go. i'm from the lancaster area of pennsylvania, about an hour west of philly, but i go to school in eastern kentucky. its a special place, to say the least. anyhow, i'm done now. congratulations if you actually read the whole way through that mess.

I'm shokwave here and everywhere else on the net, except for where someone else is shokwave and then I am shokke.

In any case, I joined in closed beta because new games are fun, and returned in open beta after real life interrupted me. Currently completing final exams, so in a few weeks I'll have time to devote to this game (which, by the way, feels like it has a lot of potential to expand into a much bigger, complete game).

So, yeah, big fan of RPGs and MMOs (KoL, WoW soon, NWN-whore, regular DnD and WoD, more acronyms) and I enjoy a good game of DotA, Counterstrike or Starcraft - though not regularly.

Also Resident Evil 4 on Gamecube, I've clocked that far too many times to count (also spent hours organising my inventory to fit everything!).

Big-time reader, loved Dune and Fight Club, also philosophy.

Apart from that, looking to go to university next year, leading on to being a journalist (or going nuts and doing a law course). So yeah, this is me. How ya doing?

As a legion of others did, I came here by virtue of KoLnews. And I'm in love with TH by now. *sigh* Another addiction. Of course, I am Cornuthaum ingame as I am here, since it makes remembering nicknames so much easier. ;)

Apart from that, I am the 100% standard nerd - with the Great Vice (WoW - Mal'Ganis EU) amongst other things.

As an european, the 'sometimes EST rollover' makes my head hurt whenever I try to figure out when this is in my time, but I think I'll eventually come up with a time that is not further off the correct result than an hour. At most.

I am human. Possibly.

I exist. Unless I don't.

I currently reside on the planet that some call "Earth".

I know a lot about math. And computer programming.

I don't know a lot about writing. Or getting along with humans.

I am an age. The age that I am is somewhere between one second and one century.

I do not believe in genders, because you shouldn't be classified just by two body parts.

If you want to know more about me, feel free to ask.

If I seem to be ignoring you, it means that I forgot about you. If I'm mad, I let people know.

Once I know you more, I'll let you have more personal information.

I have pi memorized to over a hundred decimal places.

Contrary to popular belief, I have a sense of humor. I enjoy Calvin and Hobbes strips.

If it can't be represented using a programming language or math, I don't understand it.

I know nothing about popular culture, so be prepared for me asking a lot of questions.

Although I may not type very intelligently, or understand some things, my IQ is over 150 and I am extremely intelligent.

However, my EQ is in the mentally retarded range.

I finished all of the math at my high school when I was a freshman.

I am paranoid about Google, and will often delete old posts so people won't be able to find them.

My email is gnomesquid@gmail.com, and am happy to accept email from anyone.

I have a spam folder, so feel free to sign it up for spam.

I'm going to remember 20 more things I should have written the second I click submit.

I play Rue and Autumn Rose mostly, I'm also Autumn Rose on KoL. Stay at home married housewife with 3 kids living in New England. One dog that also thinks himself one of the kids, which is sometimes true but sometimes not. I have no experience in anything remotely resembling coding, programming or other math type stuff. Math r hrd. I do however spend a large part of my day online reading webcomics, blogs, playing games and mudding.

Isn't it funny how most of the people here like DnD and M:tG and other such games/collectibles?

Not extremely suprising. I've never so much as seen anyone playing DnD before, though I've always been interested. Played a bit of Magic, but I always sucked at making good decks, since I only had a few hundred cards (which isn't actualy a lot, mind you).

I'm Ryojo, my real name is *sneezes and covers mouth*...Darn. I got brain cells all over my hands!
I run Draguinii Boojie Productions and DBoojie.com.
I LOVE making Videos and putting them on Youtube. I make Comedy, Story-line Comedy, and Web-Game related videos as well. I'd like to point out that when I said "Comedy [and] Story-line Comedy" I mean that I make Random-Comedy Skit video(s) AND comedy videos with plots as well. A little more about me:
I LOVE:
My Family, Friends, and anyone else out there with a heart.
People who donate to charities JUST to be charitable.
Being a Boojie.
Acting in, Editing, Directing, and overall MAKING Videos.
Comedians who are Comedians to be Comedians. (Not to be rich)
Your mother.
Inside and/or Corny Jokes.
"Yo momma" Jokes. (See 2 lines above)

I HATE:
It when anyone makes broad and/or rash generalizations about group(s).
Racism
People who don't love their grandparent(s).
People who purposely try to make others mad for no reason. (i.e."Trolls")
Being out of the loop, not being told things I want to know.
Rumor-starters, and Gossip-spreaders.
Thieves of ALL kinds.

Hey, it's everyones favorite pointy-eared hero, SpockYoda, a master of the Force (of logic!).

My friends in real life call me Phil, but that is not my name. I often play KoL, and I am the leader of a clan called The Jedi Council which consists of about 550 people. This is my favorite online game since I found KoL... I look forward to seeing the improvements that are bound to happen soon.

If you want to know me, or anything I can help you with (or quite possibly vice versa), feel free to message me.

Hi, I'm Hinoa. I found this game because Jick mentioned it on the Monday show, and I thought, "hey, this game doesn't sound half bad. I should check it out." So I googled it, found it, registered, and played (and I think I may have just beat the rush.)

Awesome game, by the way. :)

Hello all.

Male, American, Late 30s. Professional Military.

Been gaming for awhile, SSI DnD, Atari, Amiga, Trash-80, etc etc.
lurked on old BBS Systems, first computer had dual 5 1/4 inch floppies.
Was on "the internets" before they were called that.
Grew up reading comics.
Educated beyond ability. Still Love to Learn.

Online played some un-named MUDS, Ultima, Everquest I, Dark Age of Camelot, City of Heroes, Beta test for CoV, WoW. Offline M:TG, Shadowrun, Paranoia. Time constraints and family have geared me toward Turn based.

Officer in the High Council of a persistent, multi-platform 11 year old gaming guild known as the Sacred Silver Blades. (www.sacredkeep.com)

Currently in KoL, Adventure Quest, Legend of the Green Dragon and now Twilight Heroes.

I like exploring and discovering things in game. I am detail oriented, but like to help others without spoiling it.

If I can help anyone in game, don't hesitate to ask.

Hi, I'm Alexander, though you can call me "Lxndr" or "Lx." Like many, I found this place through the mention on the KoL wiki, just in time for the lag to begin.

I donated $20 my first or second day - enough for a gold star and a hero's cape, which (apart from a short stint in porcelain bay) I've been wearing ever since.

(I'm really hoping Twilight Heroes never has anything like "Hardcore" because if so, I'll probably do that, and then my cape and star will be meaningless to me)

I finally figured out computers yesterday, and hit level 11 last night farming the city of lost robots for mangled data. Now I have every bit of software I'm aware of in the game (and used the assembling table for the first time, as well). I am playing a psion, and so it seems I have every single skill the game can offer me without switching classes.

I'm waiting to find out when I can have more than two auras active. This information is not yet available on the wiki (I remember being so happy when I found out I could have two... but it's only been two for so long, and I can cast three).

I'm a little shy of my sixth digit in binary, and have been on the internet since I first achieved my fifth, when I first went to college. I am now back in college finishing that which I started - a degree in mathematics (and now a second in economics).

In KoL, I'm mostly "famous" (if that's the word) for avoiding cooking and cocktailcrafting entirely (my biggest pet peeve about NS13 is that I now have to buy an oven to complete one of the quests). I played City of Heroes and City of Villains until they brought crafting into the game (bringing it downhill, I felt; it was not as fun afterwards).

I am so happy that there's so little crafting-related stuff in TH and I hope that never changes. (That said, I love the method used by the computers - you feed it a data plate, give up running another program for a time, then adventure until it's done)
