The Legion of Crazy Buff

Post by seventhcross »

I just wanted to see if anyone else would be interested in getting a group of players together who would buff the daylights out of other people just for fun. I have quite a bit of sleeping draughts to donate to this cause, free to anyone who wants to join in the fun. If anyone is interested you may reply to this thread, or message me in game. I thought it would be fun for people to log in to their account and find it backlogged with buff messages and they get lot's of buffs for free, so, they can't really complain too much... right?

List of buffers:
Me-seventhcross(elemental), wa7erproof(naturalist), haun7(psion), prohpe7 of silence(gadgeteer)
Voice(gadgeteer)
Mana(naturalist)
Darkorinth(naturalist)
Grimjaw(naturalist)
Corrupt Shadow(elementalist)
Rockman(elementalist)
yamum(naturalist)
Strlikecrazy(elementalist)
Zillow(psion)
LiiLii2(randomness)
Doctor Mojo(randomness)

List of do not buff:
Satan
Muhandes
Herself
psiomuh
elemuh
Sednahum

The only drawback I can see, is for the spaders and people that don't want buffs, otherwise it's an awesome idea.

Heh, it's rare that people want Psion buffs but I'll pitch in all my spare PP.

That's the great thing about buffs though. They can always be shaken off. Also, all targets will be chosen. I have two people in mind first, but I will open it up to suggestions afterwards, and will keep in mind that Satan and Muhandes are both spaders.

Problem is, the way buffs currently work, you can be buffed during combat. So it could pervert some of the spading data before we even knew we had it on us to shake it.

That's not true. I had someone buff me with stealth while I was in combat and I kept adventuring. I didn't get the effects of the buff until I checked my messages and it gave me the yellow tagline stating the buff. It didn't even register as having any time used off of it, so I believe buffs don't become active until you are made aware of them by leaving combat. Also, since the targets are picked, I am not against having a do not buff list with Satan and Muhandes being at the top of it.

Hmm. Ok. Perhaps it's only the summonable items that do it that way, because the atomic wedge was cast onto someone during battle.

Please, if you do this, make a list of people who don't want to be buffed, myself included.

I know I can always remove the buff. I know (or think I know) the buff doesn't take place until I view the message. But just in case I'm wrong I don't want to poison 500 turns of spading realizing in the end that I had some buff someone gave me all the time.

I'm sure Valera's Herself (# 8912) will want to be on said list as well.

If you need elemental buffing, let me know. I have 1,000+MP I never use every day.

Alright, I'm happy with how it stands now. I think we are ready to begin. I will send out sleeping draughts with the name of who we are going to buff, probably on Monday. I would like to coordinate the buffs to all occur on the same day if possible, say Friday... or as close to Friday as you can get when you log in.

Happy buffing to all, and welcome to the Legion!

Welcome to the crew Strlikecrazy.

Things seem to be going well so far, the first two BuffBombs were completely successful. If anyone has any targets they'd like to see get buffed, feel free to post it here, or to message me in game. I will accept targets from anyone, even those who are not members of the Legion. So, if there's someone you feel the need to do something nice for, feel free to let me know.

Also, any donations of Sleeping Draughts for the cause will be welcomed.

I don't really want it. I'm not gonna get mad about it, just think it'd be better used on other players that don't have every single iotm released :p

I should be on the do-not-buff list too. Same reasons. Give it to someone who really needs it.
