Ok folks, I have some prizes I want to give away but I need some help. Lots of small prizes and a couple of big prizes. So for each small prize that is awarded you also win a raffle ticket. For each raffle ticket you get you have a chance at winning an old Item of the Month, or Rare in game item.
A short list is here:
http://twilightheroes.com/forums/viewto ... =501#10219

With that out of the way, some contests/questions:

Round 1)
A zillion-chip piece to the first 5 people that message me on the forums a TH related trivia question that I can use in the fun and games chat (for which you will not be eligible to win on).

Round 2)
A bandolier to the best five explanations why the TH creator calls himself Ryme (subjective judging I know). Serious, funny, or downright cruel, give it your best shot. Feel free to respond in the thread.

Round 3)
A 3-pack of Exigen-C cocktail for the first 5 correct answers to both parts of this combo question (forum PMs please Image)
Who can tell me the number of known Malk-a-mite alts?
Who can tell me the number of known active Malk-a-mite bots in chat?

Once upon a time Ross Patty and his friend were going to make a game called Twilight Heroes. They were going to be the creators of the game, and name theirself Rhyme and Reason because they read a book called The Phantom Tollbooth and wanted to be the princesses. But Ross Patty accidently forgot the silent h in Rhyme, and his friend, who was going to be Reason, got mad. So Reason quit and Ryme was the sole creater of the game.

P.S. 10 Years Later... "Reason" got incredibly jealous with the success of Twilight Heroes and Ryme!

Yeah, pretty lame I just kept thinking of the Phantom Tollbooth and when my mind's stuck on one bad idea, it doesn't go away.

I have a couple of theories about that...

A) Ryme wantd to write "Rhyme" but the "H" on his keyboard broke and he never realized

B) |this one is serious| "Ryme" is a character of one of creator's stories, but one of those stories that he never got to publish

ok... the A was stupid thing, the b is my real answer... I don't erase it'cause I feel kinda lazy

Ryme? Because it rhymes, obviously.

Ryme:
1. It represents the company softball game at MI6. M is the catcher.
2. It's a Scooby Doo quote. "Scooby, you go scout out the spooky mansion." "Ry me?"

Ryme was offered a job to teach at a primary school one day (I don't understand why someone would trust him with little kiddies). He gave them a spelling test including the word "rhyme" which Ryme marked incorrect if they wrote "rhyme" because his mother never told him that for 30 (or more) years he had been spelling it wrong. The kids were angry so they all attacked him, and stole his wallet also. They then carried him to the headmaster's office so he could settle Ryme's problem of not being able to spell "rhyme" properly. For the rest of the week Ryme was terribly embarrassed that he was outsmarted by a class of 8 year olds and never planned on returning again.
As a joke he used Ryme as his player name to remind himself that he needs to spell it correctly.

I thought Ryme was an in-ref to "Rosemary, Sage, and Thyme", from that old song.

Ryme isn't actually a who, so much as a them....well...at least that's how it all started many many long years ago on an especially cold island on the Mid-Atlantic ridge. A place renowned just as much for the unusually adept musical proficiency of it's inhabitants as well as its numerous active volcanoes. A land rife with tales of mythical creatures and cryptozoological oddities. Living through your formative years there is considered quite the accomplishment. A fact not lost on those who were lucky enough to escape being virgin sacrifices for the appeasement of said volcano gods. There is no hell like being stripped naked, covered in Hrutspungar, and thrown into the fiery depths of flamey hot flameyness. But I digress.

Ryme was a pop music group active between 1983-1994. The band comprised Ragnar Hoeskuldsson, Yrsa Snorradottir, Magnús Skalla-Grimsson, and Eirný Osvifursdottir. They topped the Scandinavian charts and sold well as far away as Albania and Morocco. The name "RYME" is an acronym formed from the first letters of each of the group member's given name ( Ragnar, Yrsa, Magnús, Eirný). Ryme gained immense popularity employing catchy song hooks, simple lyrics, and a Wall of Sound achieved by overdubbing the female singers' voices in multiple harmonies. As their popularity grew, they were sought after to tour many Air Force Bases, B-list celebrity weddings, and Harvest Festivals. The hits kept coming, and their exploits became the stuff of legend. Stories swirled around their prodigious tolerance for drug and alcohol abuse, as well as their reputed sexual conquests (bipedal as well as quad). VHS tapes of their "party" encounters with Ronald and Nancy Reagan (look for a mirror shot of Cap Weinberger on all fours in the corner wearing full pony-boy gear at 12:41) and TV's "Wonder Woman" Lynda Carter can still be found floating around at flea markets if one looks hard enough. Rumours still abound of a lost tape starring the band and the 1990 Canadian curling team, though it has not been made public. Their talents easily matched their excesses so the scandals and innuendo were seen as youthful hijinx. RYME went on to win several Hvalrengi's, the Scandinavian equivalent of the Grammy, for the songs "Circle Circle", "Dada Dia", "M.A.Y.D.A.Y.", "Dancing Queens of the Stone Age", "Krona, Krona, Krona", "Battle of the Jhelum", and "Federico".

Like all good things (riding dinosaurs, Friday night eagle frys), their meteoric rise and subsequent stranglehold on the charts finally came to an end. The pressures of continuous touring and debauchery took their toll over the years. RYME called it a day at the height of their popularity and went their separate ways. That their albums still sell like hotcakes (two bucks a stack) is testament to their influence and success. Yrsa moved to Stockholm and went on to pursue a new career as a fluffer for Swedish Erotica. Eirný is known to have earned a degree in quantum mechanics at RPI and is now currently running a Z-pinch facility at Sandia National Laboratories. Of the two gentleman little is known other than hushed whispers and speculation. Some say that they are still working together and producing bands such as Sigur Rós and múm. Other reports have them each blazing their own trail in search of artistic expression. The most compelling story comes from one of their (undisclosed) Grandmothers who reported that he bought himself a slightly used Tandy TSR-80 and set about teaching himself to code, ultimately leading to writing his own programming language based on ancient runes and closing one eye and indiscriminately mashing keys with his right thumb. She informed the staff of Lögberg-Heimskringla that he created a game like solitaire only instead of fun and hours of pleasure it involved an alternate universe where one took on the persona of a crime fighting hero and patrolling a fictional city. Not able to let go of the past he has assumed the moniker Ryme for all of his one-eye-closeded-right-thumb-mashing projects. It should be stated however that that is just conjecture.

Whatever the case, the legacy of RYME still lives on in record store bargain bins and and garage sales everywhere, as well as select MOR stations in the middle of nowhere.
