 Post subject: Turn accumulation limit?

At first I thought I might have just misread my turn counter, but after several days of watching, and a few experiments, my initial belief was realized.

The game will not let me accumulate more than 290 turns.
If I use a turn, and wait for a rollover, the turn counter goes from 289 to 290. If I consume a quantity of caffeine, and raise my turn count to over 290, when the game rolls over it is set back to 290.

Reading through the manual, I do not see anything to qualify this as an intentional feature, rather than a bug.

Has anyone else noticed this problem, or is it just me?
