Another issue. The manual page says this:

10. Improved Tinkering
Equation: Different improvements for all Upgrade Armor and Upgrade Weapons effects
Extends the duration of all gadgeteer buffs/skills by 10 + X minutes

Max: improves upgrade armor and weapons; all gadgeteer buffs/skills (except sugar purifier) get +20 minutes

However, when I use upgrade weapons it still gives 30 minutes and endurance still gives 15 minutes. Is the manual incorrect, the implementation incorrect or did I just hit my head very hard and seeing illusions? (I am playing gadgeteer without skills as retcon restriction with Improved Tinkering permed if that helps debugging)...

EDIT:
It seems like the implementation is Extends the duration of all gadgeteer buffs/skills by 2*X minutes. Is this intentional?

Improved Tinkering doesn't seem to give any +time to buffs/skills without skill points applied. When they are applied, it gives +2x minutes to each cast to everything but Endurance.

Endurance doesn't have any sort of gadget involved, so from a logical perspective there's nothing that tinkering could improve. Is that the entire issue? That seemed like a lot of words to say "improved tinkering doesn't work with endurance" so I may have missed something.

If that's it, all we need is another disclaimer, I guess.

That, plus the fact that the Manual says that Improved Tinkering increases the duration by 10+x when it's really doing 2x.

Gotcha, sorry, brain had shut off on the drive home for work. Guess I'll call that a documentation error, too, and say 2X is right, and I've also added the word "mechanical" to the description to exclude things like Endurance.

Given the existence of "That Old Trope Again?", should "I hear there's a merit badge for beating yourself up" still be part of the lack of pies deck?

Is Foe Toughness still supposed to increase HP? Because... um... it isn't.

I discovered another way to reproduce the mechanic bug:

1) Use a sidekick with mechanic active
2) Activate the lvl 11 quest so that the sidekick is kidnapped by Mick.

Now I still have +1 range but no active sidekick...

Trivial bug:

I noticed in at least two of the texts, (the end text for the dimensional rabbit hole, and the start text for the level 11 final quest) it uses the sidekick's primary name - not the one associated with the role they are currently playing.

Well, this was unexpected. On my alt, I initiated a retcon (no skills, no items, no sidekick, full consume) and the very first turn was Mr. Chillout Man. Huhwha?

In the journal, for the Cat and Mick-y Mouse thingie, there's a link to the dictionary on "wait". While I have always adored the snark in there, it's a little out of date as the quest's been implemented.

Despite having a proper auto-sell value, like a "that's my car", the Red Hex cannot be ground up in a recyclonizer.

I even equipped a chainsaw to make sure.

Not sure that's a bug. Recyclonizing and autosell are different fields, and I think I may have had animal lovers (and PETA) in mind when I made it so you couldn't chop up animals for spare parts. Not entirely sure if you're joking about this one or not, but it seemed like the right choice. You can sell a horse to a scumbag who will starve him, but you can't extract his bodily elements for personal profit. It's just the kind of world you live in.

Issues with water sprite text and squawking radio image displaying should be fixed.

I've toned down and adjusted the 'wait' dictionary text, but there's still a 7-level gap between seeing the note and getting the quest, so I don't think it's entirely unwarranted.

I've heard exactly two reports of first-turn wandering villains, but I would have sworn I'm properly resetting that on retcon. I've made one minor tweak to see if that changes anything.

For the wandering villain thing, it's only ever happened to me the one time, and only on my other account (not there's anything special about Skippy, as far as I know).

Er...

Quote:

/count cookie: You have 97 fortune cookies in your inventory.

Oddly enough, "fortune " (with the space) returns a result. /count is weird.

There's an item that matches 'Fortune' exactly and you don't have it.

Just two little PVP things to report.

First, Financial Prudence is active during a PVP fight even though all other effects aren't listed in the side pane.

Second, the avatar of the person you are fighting disappears entirely and you get the dreaded red "x" instead on the last turn of the fight.

It seems that if you only have sonic resistance, it doesn't show up on your character page. Hoy found this and I was able to verify:

No resists at all
Equip vociferous's earplugs
No visible resist
Equip Lightning's floppy hat
Elec and Sonic resit visible
Remove hat
No visible resist

There was no easy way to test if I was still 50% resistant to sonic when it wasn't showing, though.

The 2*level portion is capped at 20 + X.

Max: +50 foe toughness

First, I'm assuming you mean 2*level (cap of level 10) +2X, which would put the max at 40, not 50. Otherwise, the cap would be 30. I think it needs a slight cleanup to be clearer.

Or maybe *only* the "2*level" is capped at 20 + X, leaving the other +2X outside that cap, which would put total max at (20 + X) + 2X = 20 + 3*10 = 50
In that case, increase to foe toughness is capped at 20 + 3X

Personally, I am in favor of "effective level cap rises as you invest skill points", as opposed to "hard cap at level L"

According to the manual, Fire Within is supposed to give +10% + X max PP. However, it looks like Fire Within isn't doing anything at all unless a skill point is put into the skill.

Should +chips find affect non-combat encounters like the one in the casino? At the moment it is not increasing the chip, just wondering if that is how it's supposed to be?

More specifically, the new +chips sidekick.

Sidekicks don't affect noncombats, no. Other means of +chips do. Same with +xp.

Update: Looks like it isn't giving the base +10% even with skill points. As a Level 6 Naturalist in an All Skills run, I had the base 48 PP. I added a point to Fire Within, and only gained 1 PP to have 49. A second skill point only gave me 50 PP.

Lethargic doesn't have a description (other than 'this description does not exist').

Best guess is that it is -50% reflexes, based on the state drop I got and it's companion 'numb'.

A pegasus can be recyclonized, but not an armored pegasus. Bug or feature?

And I apologize if I offended any animal lovers.

Well, that was an oversight. Oops. Aside from being an animal, I'm pretty sure that semi-rares aren't supposed to be recyclonable.

Today, when I was clearing out the Mouths of Darkness, I went to the skills page to refresh some buffs. When I clicked on the "Mouths of Darkness" link in the left-hand pane, the Mouths of Darkness map appeared in the left-hand pane instead of the main pane. When I cast another buff, the left-hand pane returned to normal.

I repeated this several times and got the same result.

Then I defeated a foe in the Cube Theater. The "Cube Theater" link in the left-hand pane worked as expected.

This should be good.

I assume you got a villain encounter right before you left the cave? If so, we're golden.

Cheers!

So I check my messages randomly and find:

Quote:
From: The Fickle Hand of Fate (# 34923) — [reply] — [delete]
Date: 2011-12-05 21:11:21

The Fickle Hand of Fate has determined, for this day only, that you are deserving of this remarkable weapon. Use it wisely, for tomorrow it will move on to a new owner.

Fate has neither patience nor pity: if you don't receive this message until after a day has passed, you will find this message to be empty.

Since today is not yesterday, the message was empty. Thing is, I never got a notification. I've had this happen before with system-sent messages (Armaments, Ryme's birthday, the eclairs...). It doesn't always happen, but happens enough to be annoying.
