When I put material in my catalyst to convert it to something else (I.E. titanium to trititum) I get the message that the catalyst has been set (60 minutes) then immediately afterwords, there is the message that I can't use the catalyst, because it's busy. I'm guessing you forgot an exit command.

That message is there because you're currently catalyzing something. Therefore, you can't start another until the first is finished and it can't show you the catalyze options. Thus - Your catalyzer unit is already busy on another item right now.
