I'm setting up an IRC chat for the game, located on the synirc network, channel name is #TH.

Info I have listed for the network is irc.synirc.net with port 6667. Dunno if the port matters that much.

I just bolded #TH on irc.synirc.net in case it wasn't obvious. -MN

I got a message saying desconected, session limit exceeded, is there a limit to the amount of time one is allowed to be in the channel?

We saw that in the channel. You got banned from synIRC, apparently.

I don't think there's any time limit that the channel places on you - God knows I've spent too much time in other channels - but there might be a session limit on whatever program you were using to access IRC. Out of interest, what were you using?

I use mIRC, which I highly recommend, if you can be bothered downloading and installing a program for IRC. You get 30 days free and then it nags you every time you start up to pay for it. You know. Nagware, I think it's called.

I#m using the irc at work thing, which I suppose it's highly possible every ip adress is limited to a certain amount of time, wanting people to buy the program, or download it, to continue chatting

"session limit exceeded" generally means that there are too many connections from the same IP address connecting to the network. If you are on a college network, that *may* be the issue, or if you are using a mirc script that spawns socket bots or something.

Generally these bans are temp though.

I'm assuming this outside chat gets used less now that the in-game version is slowly improving, so I've un-stickied it. Let me know if people are still using this.

I've sometimes spent days in that channel without anyone saying anything (all 5 of us were quiet!). Safe to say it's pretty much dead.
