Ryme,

Can we possibly get an "opt-out" option similar to smashing/repairing the "hippy stone" on KoL?

Request granted, about a month ago.

If you could opt out instantaneously, people would hit and run, so there needs to be a time limit.

From the game manual: You can only attack players who are "active" in PvP. Players only become active if they first register at the arena, and they renew their active status any time they initiate a PvP fight. Players are removed from active status once 7 days have passed from the last time they participated in PvP.

That "7 days" may be a little fuzzy. I'm not sure on the logic there, so that may be +/- another 12 hours or so.

Ah, I apparently make one attack every 4-5 days.

I'll wait seven and see what happens. Thanks.

[Side-note: Was that fact posted, and I just missed it?]

I've noticed there's people who I can attack from the the search-by-rank page and by /whoising them and clicking the pvp link on their profile, but if I search for them by name it can't find them. Is it possible the search-by-name still filters by the old rules about them having >0.5 your rank?

How can I maintain my pvp 'active' state without initiating pvp fights?

apparently the only way to keep your stat "active" is initiating a PvP fight...

How do you be active without being active? That's one for the zen masters.

yeah, I just want to be prey. I don't care how often I fight other people, as long as I'm able to be fought.

perhaps adjusting my pvp fight %s, or changing pvp equipment, could count as 'activity'?

Sorry. Just attack one person every 7 days, and you're perpetually active. But you do have to make an attack now and then.

It'd be nice if you were just charged another 500 chips to "re-up" your membership in lieu of attacking...

A week, just like it is now. Players could either attack once a week to stay active, or spend chips to stay active.

What's so bad about spending one turn a week to stay active in PvP that people would spend 500 chips to avoid?

Those of us power leveling would consider 500 chips versus 3000 XP to be a bargin.

Or for people like Lxndr who want to be available to be attacked, but not actually attack anyone.

Which, you know, started this whole conversation.
