You're beaten badly--so bad it takes much longer than usual before you can pull yourself together. You lose an additional 4.5 minutes.
(Time icon) Your watch beeps with a reminder from your GigantoFirm LookOut software. The reminder keeps you punctual, saving you 30 seconds.

Not a bug, just weird.

Oh yes, even when you're beat up, you still have tasks to get to!

:D

Makes sense. As you lie in the dirt/dust/mud, your watch beeps, remingding you to get up and get going.

The beaten up effects are pretty lame.

Disagreed. Concussed really annoyed me, especially when I was a Psion.

I have to agree.

They're barely noticeable half the time. I really hate to compare this game to KoL, but "Beaten Up" (-50% to all stats) is WAY more effective than the various effects we have.

The best aspects (from a fairness point of view... I don't like it) of being beaten up are the loss of XP and loss of time. THOSE are effective ways to make sure people are more careful in battle.

My advice:

1. Make the beaten up effects harsher,
OR
2. Drop them in favor of increased XP and time loss.

I like how there are multiple effects that you could get from losing a fight, but yeah, they are too tame as it is.

On that note, it would be nice to be able to click on a buff/effect and see what it does. A description, if not the actual statistics.

You can, in your sidepane where your stats are.
Also, you can on your character page, where your skills are listed.

I am an idiot. I'm just going to leave that other post there and let everyone see how much of an idiot I am.

Speaking of saving/losing time, and to take the conversation in a different direction...

It'd be neat if there were items that made your bedtime sooner. Like, say, some kind of alcohol would move bedtime 30 min closer and give you a "feel no pain" damage reduction effect. A tradeoff. Something like that.

So how would that work on Fridays? Maybe set in place a "passing out point." Just a thought.
