This is really cool. With the
and the
and the [spoilers].

Seriously, though, this is by far the best content yet. I wish I could spend a little more time there when it's not Frayday... but I guess that's my own choices.

Can't wait to see what's done next.

Thanks, Hamish. I felt unusually inspired while working on this stuff. Plus the spoofed topic was probably the greatest obsession of my childhood, so it's easy to go back and revisit some of it.

This seemed reminiscent not only of obvious sources, but also of The Terrible Secret of Space. Coincidence or feature?

There's definitely one TSoS joke in there, and there's plenty of other inspirations (the foe named after a child's game, etc.), sure. I'll take whatever seems good and blend until frothy.

I will also heartily endorse this content and/or event.
Great writing, even when I didn't get it all.
Also, an
. What more could a space viking want?

Yeah, this new content is really great! :) I loved the written content and the rewards are very good and interesting. This also takes me back to my childhood watching a certain cartoon on British tv. Thanks Ryme!

This is pretty great. Honestly, the only thing I can find to complain about is the fact that the foes kick my ass and I'll never finish it at this rate.

Nitpicking aside, it's a lovely quest, full of hilarious content. Can't wait to see what unfolds next.

The only thing I can find to complain about are those stupid psychic resistant monsters... Oh well, Psions can't be the best 24/7, I suppose.

Really though, to repeat those above me, Awesome job. This is really fun content.

All I gotta say, is that I sincerely hopes this caps. And that you implement the equivalent to reagent potions. Soon.

That aside, this is some really in depth content. I have to go back and re-read what I skimmed over <.<

I just wanted to agree that the new robot content is not only some of your funniest yet, it even flirts with being clever social commentary. Please keep up the great work, Ryme.

It was played to a tee, especially with each <spoiler> having its own merchandise-oriented tilt. I'm also glad that
those smart robots learned to rust-proof themselves before they went swimming.
Too bad Susan Novak can't or won't do any reverse-engineering with whatever salvage we can bring down from there.

So guys, pretty good chipsink, don't you think? ;)

Awesome stuff Ryme. Love love love giant robot references to death. And the puns were no less awesome.

So, a new day and a new limit! The sky! Or well, I guess that would be the ends of the universe.

Anyways, I'm not sure that the current method of levelling was the best, Ryme. If this is one of several that will appear, that's fine, but right now, the best way to level up is to grind in one area?

It saddens me when people make assumptions about requirements mere minutes after new content has been released. I've had weeks to think about this -- give me credit for making it not as sucky as your initial reaction thinks it is. Please?

One question. Why no PP restore when leveling? Just because it's a bit unbalancing?

I'm probably wrong about my assumptions, and I didn't realize it til now. Sorry. It is a good limiter mechanic to prevent people from hitting the roof, certainly. I'm not sure why I was thinking otherwise. And well, that's all I know about it. So. Yeah. Bad me.

Yeah after going through all of it and getting the three rewards, it's definitely not worth the time and effort in getting the terrible items.

I hope the next new area that comes out isn't as sucky as this.

Yup. Best +chip off hand in the game, best +item off hand in the game, best healing in the game, most powerful equipment in the game, and the ability to level past 50. What utter trash.

I've been trying to think of a way to put this into words since I saw Smoot's comment, but this has beaten any of the multiple ways I was thinking of.

I'm really pleased about the fact that I can level up in just over a day's worth of adventures (which is, for me, a normal day plus two Misters Tea) and the fact that I can hork my [items] to the everlasting ether for a great deal of chips (and then get said items back in almost record time). I don't care about the healing and equipment so much (mostly because I keep selling my items to get chips for levelling instead of saving up the items for equipment making) but it's still a fantastic idea for a place and a buncha crap to go with it.

Hm. Looking over the equipment store...

How about tweaking the Saw Gloves into using the gloves slot. Double the price if needs be. Also, we need some kind of boots from them too. I total robo outfit would be sweet.

Granted the +item drops equip has potential but the others seem kinda pointless.

Watch out, Smoot! The hand is going to eat you!

A point that I would like to actually make in complaint, is that, to me, this game now has an overabundance of robots. As much as I like robots, it just doesn't seem to fit the whole comic book origins of the game. Where's the Nazis and Communists? Or even just oddly-cosumed bad guys?
Further points on this line of thinking I realize should go elsewhere.

The new items I give a thumbs up to, though I'm not sure how much I'll actually use them. Having a high-end shield to compete with the Aegis was a good move.
Or even like Cristiona mentioned in chat, the suit makes you stop and think about switching out the Xentrium for it.

PS, just repeating a request by others, we need a link up in the top frame.

I can't put any more links up there. They just won't fit on average monitors. As it is I already have some folks running into trouble because it wraps and pushes the third line of links out of the top frame. Considering there's eventually going to be up to 3-5 more sections like that, not including the space station and the links downtown, I'm not sure there's ever an elegant way to include that many locations.

Having the "Last Adventure" text link back to the parent zone would go a long way towards helping you out, I realize, and I'll look into that.

Drop-down menus like KoL in compact mode?

That was my thought. I find the default KoL interface to be absolutely ridiculous, something like Compact Mode (for the top, not the side), would probably be better

I went ahead and took the time to run the following through my robo-Smoot-translator:
Smoot wrote:

and got the following: "I'm not sure the next new area can surpass the awesomeness of the space station."

Hope that helps everyone.

i'm sure some people use +chips items like i did when farming the casino, so that has potential as well. the
EMP device
may only be useful in one or two areas, but
for 3 adventures per day i can easily defeat the robots in 7-gamma with absolutely no worries about them kicking my ass
