I like! Also, access to a power:90 helmet at lvl1 makes transing much easier

Think how awesome you will be if you spend an extra 100 turns in Your Neighborhood at level 1. Extra HP from adv's and extra stats from the helmet will make you the winnar! This may make flying more worth it later on instead of having to VR to up stats for good flying exp.

So has anyone tried using the VR center with this? Does it modify the effects? What does the improved computer interaction do?

After playing with this item today, I am convinced this item is a big winner for anyone who's not playing a pure farming game. High power is a big damage reduction, making healing less of a necessity. More experience is always good, and on any sort of lengthy play without transmogrification, those stat increases are really going to add up. Personally, I hit level 10 with ease and was able to support my heals with the yield from the hero's cape. A definite improvement, and indispensable for any aspiring powergamer for the forseeable future.

This is kind of unfair for the leaderboards. Hopefully I can scrounge up more silver stars though. I've been dying for a recurring way to permanently gain stats, other than HP, from recurring adventures. The VR center is nice, but my software doesn't activate there and it's a flat 10 minutes.

Leaderboard qualms and such aside, this looks like a damn good item.

I don't think you have quite enough data points to establish that yet. I've had huge variations in how many activations I get per day. I'd certainly hope that this item doesn't turn the ASX/SUIT boards into a who has a VR Helmet contest.

At the very least, I would assume it affects GigantoFirm LookOut. And that would be enough to sway the ASX and SUIT boards since it gives extra turns.

It's especially nice since you can get those stats for noncombats as well as turns where you get beaten up.

I like it. Love it, really. And now I can warm and fuzzy after having donated for the first time.

Well, I'm getting the impression that it does affect SUIT, because I was formerly #5 on those leaderboards and now I've fallen off the board entirely, overtaken by people who got VR Helmets. If only I had Paypal...

I do want to put some non-donatey methods of having a similar effect in the game. The tradeoff will be that it doesn't have the other bonuses of the helmet, of course. It's inevitable the donation items will probably affect many/most leaderboards, but I'll try to provide other options when possible.

For instance, perhaps, the robocap?

Your pun is horrible and meets with my approval.

edit: Oh, hadn't realized it was already in the game. Awesome.

You don't need a paypal account to donate. Just a credit or check card. Worked for me, at least.

regarding donating, and getting very off topic here (sorry!) but in Ireland this service exists which removes the need for a credit card. works with paypal too. :)

http://www.3v.ie

Maybe it or something like it exists in other countries too?

A quick comparison:

I have a level 24 multi with base stats of 193-87-87. (No VR Helmet)

My level 14 main character (equipping the VR Helmet after transmogrifying) has base stats of 67-94-95.

This helmet rules. This actually may be a tad overpowered, but I am enjoying it while it lasts.
