I need clarification please:

Do the pit monsters level based on your stats or your actual level in the game? I'd assume it's based on stats, but I just wanted a definate answer. Otherwise, after level 50, it must get boring.

Has no effect on its stats, which scale according to player level

So, once you hit level 50, the pit monsters never change?

As of now, the level cap is 50. Ryme has stated he wants to lift that cap some time in the eventually and I'm sure when he gets to that point there will be more variety for very high-level characters.

What, I'm saying is do the monsters level as your STATS level, or do they level as your LEVEL goes up?

It scales its stats according to your level.

I didn't know if you meant the monsters' stats or players' stats by "its".

So I can just not level up and keep building up xp, possibly getting stats from the games place?

Sweet.

It seems that the pit fiends stats scale to your stats, but the xp gains scale to your level. Since I hit level 50, I donned an amulet of corruption. I get half the xp, but the pit fiends are no easier. If I'm going to only be able to hit them with critical hits, regardless of my strength, it seems like my experience gained should be higher when I'm tougher. Before you divide it in half, for the talisman anyway.
edit: it seems I get the occasional non-critical hit in as well, although 8+ rounds of straight misses seem to be popping up disturbingly often.

Finally I got registered.

Yes, it does seem that the monsters in the pit scale according to your stats to me. I have no easier time of it with a massive stat bonus due to the spending a long time at the VR center.

But no additional experience for that either. Kinda lame, if you ask me. Luckily, I've given up on the xp boards, thanks to this Amulet, so I don't have to set foot in there unless I feel like it.

Why, thank you for the worthless comment.

In fact, you couldn't be far from the truth! Given that the Pit gives the best XP gains with decent drops. Usually.

If you don't like it, Smoot, you can always leave. We would hate to waste your valuable time.

It's more that "lame" and "this sucks" aren't especially helpful.

Now, you'll note that I didn't say "Smoot, if you don't stop talking shit about TH, you're going to get banned." That was an assumption on your part, not something I even remotely implied.

No, what I did say was that if he didn't like it, well, then there's no point in sticking around, is there? What I did say is that if he doesn't like the game, he can feel free to leave, but his complaints are going to be ignored.

Don't imply we have some sort of Soviet-style suppression going on, Dybbuk, because we don't. I just don't particularly feel like having Smoot ruin our forums like he ruined the KoL forums.

Meh, he didn't ruin the KoL forums. Just pissed a lot of people off and started a lot of nattering. Which was going on before he was there, and still goes on now. There's just less of it about him.

With Smoot, as with anyone, I spend about as much time considering the comments as it appears was spent making them. Which is to say if it's just "this sucks" well, that's a two-second thought from both sides, and if it's a lengthier and informative post, it gets a lengthy and informative consideration.
