Heh. It's value could be given as "priceless", but when you try to sell it... "It turns out that it's only worth one million theoretical chips. No one actually wants to give you anything for it." And it could have a "discard" link... "You slip the flail into an inc...

The Bard's Play + Mourning Star Epic Flail This thing looked good on paper, but holding it in your hand all you can think of is "You'll shoot your eye out, kid." You can't really shoot your eye out with it, although something tells you that you can come close. +10 Melee damage Critical hit...

Happy birthday, Greg
When I add something, I'll edit it into this post and post again to bump it. This is a work of fiction; any real birthdays by people named Greg are purely coincidental. + Greg stalked back to his cubicle, thick stacks of paper in either hand. He dropped them on his desk at the same time, so they ma...

Lack of Pies + Schrödinger's Box = Futility Belt You place the lack of pies inside the box and close the lid. Several seconds pass in silence, then the box shudders and turns itself inside out... sort of. Where there was once a box is now a belt with many handy pouches. The coloration and design of ...

The most recent incarnation of Thunderbolts kicks ass. Kick-Ass also kicks ass. I really didn't dig Jon Romita Jr.'s art until Neil Gaiman's Eternals mini. Which was also good. Ultimates and Ultimates 2 were good. Civil War was awesome, with the exception of the Thunderbolts tie-in (the book still s...

I know, I've been in that boat (I thought a shock grenade would have worked better against robots...) The point is, if you absolutely, positively need to hit something, Naturalists are the only class with no guarantee. Of course, everyone can sling enerbun around, but you can't equip something to gi...

The problem is that it's hard to imagine defenses damage making a difference with higher level encounters, while at the lower level fatal defense damage is likely to come only after the player misses a lot. It's frustrating to miss a lot, and seeing a creature take damage that should kill it isn't e...

I just spent a couple weeks in the City of Lost Robots, getting mangled data plates to churn code out of. As a result, I have a bunch of electronic computer components I really have no use for. That got me thinking... there are only two types of computers that can be built anyway. But then, what oth...

Right now, I'm trying to collect 10 of everything, shy of the rare talismans and ridiculously expensive things like the coal stuff, donation items, Bass-O-Matics... It's going to be a pain to get all the jetpack intermediate steps done. Currently, I'm wrapping up the 'one of everything' phase. Still...

Now I'm wonderin' how the IRS would collect tax off a superhero income. Officially, income from theft is supposed to be reported on your return. How do they go about enforcing that? I don't know about that, but I remember reading about a tax on illegal drugs before. Apparently, in some states you c...

With 15 PP up for grabs every turn, and an almost full heal available for 20 PP, Elementals are sitting pretty for any combat. Basically, the same set-up works for Elementals and Psions, except that for Psions, healing is a more costly prospect. 1) Cape 2) Locket 3) Lexura Infinides D-8 4) Pandimens...

The Cape is good for everyone. If you've got one, there's no reason why you wouldn't use it. The shield is good for low level characters, for the HP and damage. It's also good for high level characters taking on enemies who scale with level. That being said, it's almost a must-have for powerleveling...

The Cape's +10 PP/turn and +item are great. They pretty much let you cast spells at will and the +item% is twice as good as the next two pieces of equipment combined. As for the shield... +20 to maximum HP -- half of a silver star Attacker takes 5 damage -- close to a Paradox Naught +20% resist fire...

Say you're standing in front of a locked door. Now imagine you try to open the door. I can't summon water buffalo either, but I imagine one can knock down a door. I've got a lot of the exp/item/chip drops saved in text files, along with a lot of the one-time adventure text. Also Merit Badge stuff and level info for Psions and Naturalists, and exp levels up to 31. But maybe we just used up the monthly allowance of bandwidth or something. I'm in no rush to put ...
