\ is the escape character; I've seen this often, and it's usually a case of misplacing the escapes. You need to escape ' and \ itself, so it probably got typed twice and both were escaped, leading to \\\'

All -1 minute combat items use the same counter, and you can't trigger more than one -1 minute per combat. That's why you need the free runaways. Perhaps they could replace the antiquated VR boards, since no one really cares about those anymore, and I think that's what they were originally intended to measure back when we had no retcon and less sources of permanent stat gain.

It's really very simple. The mechanic affects pinata equipment and allows you to skip the entire first group and get lots of +hp, but in return you have to fight another much stronger group towards the end. That balances out and would be fine. There's no reason to include the mechapinata sidekick as...

By even having it exist, you're encouraging us to fight it. Anyone who wishes to fight one solo can easily start their own league, or make an alt league, so it's not like it has to interfere with regular league fights.
